Hello everyone ✨
I was recently contracted to make a few pairs of crochet earrings for bridesmaids and today, I'd be sharing with you the second pattern of earrings I made. You can check out the first pattern I shared here.
For the purpose of this post, I'd be showing the crochet sample I made with four petals although the final pair of earrings I sent to the bride had five petals.
Without further ado, let's get into the materials needed and the process.
Materials Needed
🤍: Yarns(two colours of your choice) 🤍: 3.5mm crochet hook
🤍: Darning Needle
🤍: Cutter
🤍: Earring hook and jump rings
🤍: Jewelry pliers
The Process
To make the earrings I made use of two strands of 3-ply acrylic yarn(6-ply in total).
First, make a chain of eight and join the ends to form a ring. This step can also be done using a magic ring but with a magic ring, the first row may not be as thick or firm.
Next, make a chain of four and then go ahead to make four double crochet stitches into the ring created. Make another chain of four and complete the first petal with a slip stitch on the same created ring.
Then, chain four again and repeat the above process again: four double crochet stitches into the ring, chain four and slip stitch into the ring. Repeat this step until you have five four petals in total.
End by making a slip stitch, cutting off the yarn and sewing in the loose strand.
N/B It may become increasingly hard to insert more petals into the circle but you can gently shift the already made petals to make room for more petals.
For the next step, change the yarn colour and insert it directly onto the ring. Make a chain of seven and then insert a treble crochet into the first stitch from the white petals. Insert four more treble crochet stitches on the petals then make a chain of seven and slip stitch onto the ring to finish up.
Repeat this for the rest of the four petals. End with a slip stitch on the ring. Cut off the yarn and sew in the excesses.
N/B: Be careful and thoughtful when cutting off the yarn, to avoid unraveling the entire creation.
The last step is to add the earring hooks using your jewelry plier and you're done with your floral earrings.
Repeat the above steps to get the second pair of the earring.
If you didn't double the yarn, there would be a need to make the earrings stand firm but otherwise, the earrings should take form and be firm enough.
I absolutely love how this pair of earrings turned out. The colour combination isn't my favorite but it seemed alright. What do you think of this crochet piece? I'd be happy to answer any questions you have concerning this pattern.
