Introduction

This week battle mage secret is the stampede rules set. All units will receive the trample ability, just like summoner:

Trample can be a fun to watch, especially with this rules set it tramples until the last units is killed in one streak if you are lucky.

Ruleset

The Stampede ruleset allows the Trample ability to retrigger infinitely - as long as the trampling monster keeps killing other monsters.

Abilities Synergies / Strategies

Tample:

When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target with a Melee attack, it will perform another Melee attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team

So this only benefits melee units keep that into mind

Retaliate - Trample will also be activate if a monster is killed by Retaliate. This only works if the monster with these two abilities is not killed when taking the attack.

Enrage - when damaged, your monster will have increased melee attack and speed. This might be the buff you need to defeat your enemies monster and trigger the trample ability!

Piercing - If Melee or Ranged attack damage is in more that the target's Armor, the excess will damage the target's health.

Double strike - Love unit the have melee and double strike in this rules set this gives an higher change on kills so also to trigger the trample.

repair - this ability can just save you when you have one armor it can absorb the attack which might prevent an trample trigger.

Demoralize - This can help you lower the melee attack point of your enemy so your opponent has an harder time to kill so also harder to trigger the trample.

Flank - Now the second position gets reach so that can also be a melee unit that optimally benefits from the stampede

Avoid

I try to avoid low health units that can trigger and trample run streak.
Be careful with resurrect and rebirth the revive an unit with only 1 health this can easily trigger the next trample run.

sneak - Als be careful with sneak unit when it is the last unit you kill it will not trigger the trample.

Example battle

We have a look into a battle with stampede.

Strategy

Medium mana battle with poison i want to use the coastal sentry. This one of the first units that crossing my mind when i see stampede.
Logically i use Possibilus the Wise to give the coastal sentry reach, this is just such a lethal combination with trample.

Rulesets

Noxious Fumes:
All unit are poisoned at the start. Meaning from round two all unit will get to poison damage to their health. This poison can be cleansed and with immunity you can block it.

Stampede:
Rule set of this week. All unit will gain the Trample ability meaning when a melee unit kills it can attack the next character with an extra attack.

Baakjira (lvl 4)
Strong self healing unit that needs to keep the front protected. Baakjira also give other units +1 health this is important

Coastal Sentry (lvl 10)
For this rule set i always like the Coastal Sentry because of its double strike and piercing is a lethal combination with trample.

Venator Kinjo (lvl 4)
This unit made it in the team for the immunity if the first two units are killed this will be there to give another shot.

Merdaali Guardian (lvl 8)
No attack but with the +2 health of Possibilus the Wise and 2x strengthen it got some health to last long enough to heal some of my units.

Igor Darkspear (lvl 6)
Low mana cost with high health to live trough a few round of poison damage

Angelic Mandarin (lvl 8)
Last unit is another healer that can heal the back line even Coastal Sentry

Rounds

Start :

Lets have a look into the battle lineup.
Pretty similar strategy. My opponent went for the cleanse of the Baakjira i think he can out heal itself.
The swiftness of my opponent is counter with my extra slow of Venator Kinjo. In the last position is the key difference imho i have on extra attacker that can heal one of my units while my opponent has a meat shield that will be killed by poison.

Round 1:

Not much has changed. My stun on his Baakjira is still important so it cannot heal its self next turn. the extra 2 damage is already a small advantage. My opponent has cleansed its Baakjira giving it two more speed back. This is irrelavant for next round, it cannot attack/heal because of the stun.

Round 2:

First trample kill by my Coastal Sentry. My Coastal Sentry is healed by Angelic Mandarin. Looking steady in this round. Also nice to see is that i stunned his Coastal Sentry while my opponent
River Nymph removed it directly with the cleanse. I'm not worried about the poison i got enough health and some healing power.

Round 3:

This is what a trample run can do.

4 extra attacks by trample of my Coastal Sentry this is what stampede can do in combination with the reach

Conclusion

Now you witness how powerful the coastal sentry can be with trample. A nice unit to select when the Stampede rule set is in the mix. Do not forget to give it reach by an flank unit in the front or summoner Possibilus the Wise.
