Today's battle was a low mana battle which was quite a challenging one and fortunately I managed to secure an excellent victory. In this battle I selected one Archon along with four monsters while my opponent also chose four monsters.
Both teams had excellent selection and positioning. However since I understood the rulesets better I selected my monsters accordingly. With the help of right strategy and proper positioning I was able to achieve a great win.
First, let's understand the two rulesets and see what made them so special that I had to plan my strategy around them.
STAMPEDE
The first ruleset is Stampede. It is a very exciting battle ruleset that makes the Trample ability much more powerful than it normally is. In fact, this ruleset is specially designed for monsters that have the Trample ability.
First let's understand what Trample actually does. It is an ability that allows a monster to immediately perform another melee attack on the next enemy in line after defeating an enemy with its melee attack.
In normal battles this effect only triggers once. if a monster has the Trample ability it can eliminate one enemy with its melee attack and then make only one additional melee attack.
However in the Stampede ruleset, this limitation is removed. This means if the monster destroys the first enemy, it attacks the second. If it destroys the second, it attacks the third.
In simple words, Trample keeps activating repeatedly until the next target survives or the attack chain finally ends.
This is what makes the Stampede ruleset so unique. It makes monsters with the Trample ability extremely dangerous.
The best strategy for this ruleset is to protect your own team by selecting high health monsters. Whenever possible include healers and strong attackers in your lineup. Also give extra value to monsters with the Trample ability so they can deal as much damage as possible to the enemy team.
ELITE FORCE
The second special ruleset is Elite Force. This is a unique ruleset where Common rarity monsters cannot be summoned at all. In this battle you can only choose Rare, Epic or Legendary monsters.
This ruleset becomes challenging if most of your collection consists of Common cards and you have fewer higher rarity monsters because Common cards are simply not allowed to be summoned.
Keeping these two rulesets in mind I placed a monster with the Opportunity ability on the frontline so it could target and eliminate the enemy monster with the lowest health.
In the middle positions I selected a combination of Magic and Ranged attackers. For the backline I once again used a melee attacker but this time it also had the Sneak ability so it could continuously attack the enemy monster in the last position.
The battle started with an intense exchange. First, I eliminated one enemy monster then one of my monsters was defeated. After that I eliminated another enemy monster and the battle continued in the same way.
In the end my backline remained strong which helped me secure a fantastic victory.
The key monster in this battle was Ash Archer. It has 2 Ranged Attack that keeps damaging the enemy units with 2 power every round. It continued attacking round after round and eliminated the enemy monsters one by one.
Which monsters would you prefer in these two rulesets and what strategy would you use? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
