My Defense Strategy Failed Miserably — Magic Attacks Destroyed Everything
There are some battles where you are not dependent on the rulesets. Rather your monster selection and positioning play a very important role in that battle. There are many battles where no rulesets come or such rulesets come which are not very useful.
So in this way you should keep more focus on your monster selection. And of course the selection of the Archon monster plays a very important role in making any team because it is the captain of the team. It gives direction to all the monsters and helps all allied units with their positioning and with its ability.
So in battles where the rulesets are not very special the selection of the Archon monster plays a very important role. And after that you have your other units where you should make a good selection and also good positioning.
Todays 32 mana battle was very special and interesting where we got to see a very exciting competition. And most importantly because the rulesets were not very special the battle was totally dependent on the selection of the monsters the Archon monster and the other monsters.
lets talk about the two rulesets and which two rulesets came where they did not have much effect on this battle for me.
Ruleset 1: FATE CERTAINTY
This is a ruleset where monsters with Affliction, Poison, Poison Burst and Stun abilities are given preference. That means their chance of triggering becomes 100%.
According to this ruleset if you have any monsters with these abilities then you should definitely select those monsters according to this ruleset because their chance of triggering the ability is 100%.
So if you have monsters with these abilities in your deck then definitely include them in your deck and take full advantage of this ruleset.
Ruleset 2: OUTSIDER
The second ruleset is OUTSIDER where you are only allowed to summon one Wild unit. Apart from this you cannot select any other Wild unit.
So your strategy should be to select the best monster from your Wild cards which has good powers so that it can play a very important role in the battle.
After understanding these two rulesets I made my strategy like this. I kept more focus on the Archon monster. I thought that this time let's make our defense line a little stronger.
I PLANNED FOR STRONG DEFENSE STRATEGY
So my strategy was that I selected an Archon monster with an ability which gives armor. It has plus one armor. That means the job of this Archon monster is that all units which have armor will get an increase of plus one in their armor. And they will survive for a long time by absorbing damage in the battle.
After that I placed a strong tank monster on the frontline which has good armor and health and also has a strong melee attack.
Then in the second position I selected a non-attack monster which has armor and health.
And my main purpose was that this monster would continuously absorb the enemy's attack damage so that my backline monster would remain safe and continue damaging the enemy units with its attacks.
In the mid position I selected a mixed combination of ranged and magic attackers which created an aggressive stance.
Because of this my two frontline monsters would continuously absorb damage and my monsters in the backline positions would continuously attack and deal damage to the enemy units.
ON THE BATTLEFIELD (OPPONENT MONSTER SELECTION WAS FAR GOOD)
When I looked at all the units on the battlefield it was again very confusing because the enemy side had also selected good monsters. And he had focused more on magic monsters.
This became a disadvantage for me because I selected an Archon with an armor ability and magic attackers bypass armor and directly hit health. So here a kind of confusion was created.
In the beginning of the round the battle continued normally.
In Round 1 things were better but as soon as Round 2 started I realized that my monsters were becoming weak. And the biggest reason was that continuous magic attacks were coming.
The focus I had placed on armor-based monsters became useless and the enemy's magic units were playing their role in the game.
As soon as Round 3 started my frontline monster was destroyed.
Both of the frontline tank monsters which I had placed for defense were destroyed. And my one hope became weaker. I was feeling that my defeat in this battle was certain.
As the battle continued in Round 4 another one of my ranged attackers was eliminated. And the enemy's frontline kept damaging all my units because of continuous healing.
And in Round 6 all of my units were eliminated while not even a single enemy unit was eliminated. And here I suffered a very bad defeat.
The actual thing was that I should also have focused more on my magic monsters. But this was my biggest mistake that I made the wrong selection of monsters.
Anyway this battle was quite interesting and I learned a lesson about how you can survive in this type of ruleset.
What would your strategy be in this type of ruleset and which monsters would you give more preference to? will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
