Understanding Rulesets Is 50% of Winning — Earthquake Was a Disaster in This Battle
In battles like this where very special rulesets come and there are some special conditions and damages for both teams, a good and effective selection is very important in such battles. You should select your strong armor and health monsters in such ruleset and with the best positioning victory is possible.
Often my win rate is much better in high mana battles compared to low mana battles because in high mana battles we get much more chance for monster selection. It becomes easier for us to make a proper plan and strategy according to the ruleset. Because the mana is high we can easily select our best monsters.
And yes understanding the ruleset and implementing it can be 50 percent of the result of your battle win. Therefore understanding the ruleset is very important.
Todays 59 mana battle was very special for me and it was an interesting high mana battle where strong hitting continued from both sides. With good monster selections from both sides we got to see a good fight in the battle.
First lets understand the rulesets properly. Then I will tell you which strategy I adapted according to these rulesets and which monsters I gave more preference to.
Ruleset 1: EARTHQUAKE
This is a very dangerous ruleset where all units whether they are allied units or enemy team units start receiving 2 damage from Round 2 and this damage starts at the beginning of every round.
The job of Earthquake is that all units keep receiving 2 physical damage. Because of this your health will keep decreasing very quickly. The health of your units will keep going down very quickly.
But if you have units with Flying and Snared abilities then according to this ruleset they are more successful monsters because Earthquake has no effect on monsters with these abilities.
So if you have monsters with Flying and Snared abilities in your team you must select them according to this ruleset so that you can avoid the effect of Earthquake.
Ruleset 2: MANEUVERS
This is a ruleset where all units get the Reach ability. The job of Reach is that if you place a melee attacker in the second position it can successfully attack.
Normally melee attacks can only attack while being in the first position. But because of the Reach ability melee attackers get Reach and they can also easily attack from the second position.
According to this ruleset it is important to use this strategy.. select more strong melee attackers. Because everyone gets the Reach ability place your best melee attacker in the second position and keep making the best hits with it.
Ruleset 3: FATE CERTAINTY
According to this ruleset there are some powers and abilities including Affliction, Poison, Poison Burst and Stun. Their chance of triggering is 100 percent.
This means if you have monsters with these abilities you must select them according to this ruleset because there is a 100 percent chance that they will trigger.
For example if you have a monster with the Stun ability you will select it and after every successful attack there is a 100 percent chance that the enemy unit which was hit will become Stunned.
In the same way Poison Burst means 2 health will keep decreasing every round. Therefore according to this ruleset try to give preference to monsters with these abilities and definitely select them.
MY STRATEGY AND MONSTERS SELECTION
Keeping these rules in mind what was my strategy and which monsters did I select and what positioning did I use? Let's find out.
First of all I selected my Archon monster with the plus one Speed ability because this is a high mana battle and there will be more high health monsters here. That means more tank monsters will be selected.
So it is better to increase the speed of the strikers so that they can attack quickly and keep damaging the enemy units quickly.
After that in the frontline position I selected a strong tank monster that has melee attack, good armor and health.
After that in the second position I selected a mixed combination of a melee and magic attacker that has good health.
And in the third position again I selected a monster as a secondary tank.
That means my first three lineup positions were such that I positioned monsters with good armor and high health so that they could survive for as long as possible in the battle and keep absorbing heavy damage so that my strikers could remain safe.
After that in the middle positions to the end position I selected a mixed combination of ranged and magic strikers and gave them the best positioning so that they could continuously attack the enemy units from the back position and damage their frontline.
ON THE BATTLEFIELD
When I saw all the units on the battlefield it was quite confusing and I could not understand who was winning this battle because on both sides we saw strong monster selections and good positioning which created some confusion in the battle.
And the main thing was that this was a balanced team but the real role had to be played by the rulesets. Especially because of Earthquake, the battle could go in any direction.
In the beginning rounds the battle was very interesting. Heavy strikes continued from both sides.
Then if you look at Round 2 one monster from my side and one monster from the enemy side were eliminated. Up to this point the battle was going very well.
But because Earthquake also had to show its power and in Round 3 you can see that because of Earthquake many monsters were eliminated.
And this became a three versus three fight which was very interesting.
This battle should have continued until Round 6 but because of Earthquake three monsters of the enemy unit were eliminated at the same time while two of my monsters were eliminated.
And in the end my high health monster which I had placed in the third position as a strong tank survived.
And this was my biggest smart decision. Because of this I got an excellent victory in this battle.
The battle ended in Round 3 itself.
Because of Earthquake the three monsters remaining on the enemy side were eliminated while two of my three remaining units were eliminated.
My strong tank survived this Earthquake and the ruleset because of its high health and I won this battle.
In rulesets like these if you do your positioning and monster selection with proper thinking then your victory is almost guaranteed.
In this battle I would call my favorite monster my third tank monster Frankarsgard. Because of its high health it survived the Earthquake ruleset and because of this I got a good victory.
What would your strategy be in this type of ruleset and which monsters would you give more preference to? will be glad to see your answers in the comments section.
