Being alive each day means, "one has to live no matter the circumstances that we wake up to face". But, living isn't that easy.
Let's not look at the fairy tale storyline of the old angry woman being dealt with by life and the young innocent people claiming victory at last. Don't get me wrong, it is not like something a bit close to that doesn't happen, but most times, the person who struggled day in and day out may end up not making it in life. Alas! We have seen such… More like, I have seen such. Life isn't that cheesy wishy for some people.
I lost my uncle some years back. It was a bad year. He was kind, patient, and loving and would give his last cent to anyone who needed it and he worked very hard in life. Of course, we all hoped well for him if not that our hopes were shattered when he died in such a gruesome way. My heart tells me because it knows he didn't deserve to die like that. It would have been better if he died in his sleep not smashed by a heavy-duty trailer on a sunny day.
When I heard the news while at work, I was broken. I am not the cry type when people lose their life but… I couldn't hold back my tears because I knew how grounded in life he was toward helping humanity. And this is why his memory in my heart will continue to live on.
When I view life from the perspective that not everyone enjoys the fruit of their labor, I wish I could find a very easy way to uplift my financial status during extreme times when finances are choking. And, at this time, lots of awful thoughts come in and I could have gone for any of them but… I can't! And that is because of how grounded I am toward living my life. This brings us to the practice I have that keeps me grounded in life.
One of the practices that keep me still in one place is the, "Self-talking practice", and this deals with me having a deep conversation with myself. I divide myself into 3 people with different mindsets and then we discuss. The first one is usually the mischievous me who finds it fun to conjure different ways of getting me in trouble knowing fully that I will be the doer of the action at the end of the day. Haha.
The next one is the kind and patient person who speaks with so much wisdom that it makes my mouth water and it makes me question the universe if such a person truly exists. Hehe. Well, this second person is very calm and tries to speak to the mischievous side about being good but, the mischievous side ends up plotting against the second person and it is so much fun. It is like in the movies. But, in this movie, no film trick. Everything is based on reality.
And the third person's job is very simple. All I have to do is watch the interaction between them and laugh when the need arises while learning too. It is always so fun doing this and it helps relieve me of stress, solve any problems I have, and get me going in life.
Another way is staying in a very quiet space or going to the beach just to listen to how the water hits the shore and breathe in the salty air with eyes closed and it helps me meditate.
Doing these things and some others like reading, writing, singing with any strange object I can find (Ps: The objects have to be strange), dancing, watching movies and well… There has to be more. Hehe.
When I do any of the listed practices, It helps get me ready to face or solve any unsolicited move life brings up. They help me stay grounded in life to keep me from completely losing my shit that may make me see suicide after spending all the money I have left in my account has an option. Also, any of these practices allow me to go out the next day with a smile and help people that may need my helping hand in life.
This is my response to the Monthly Prompt by #thoughfuldailypost and also my last submission for #dreemport collaboration with the community. Gosh, I am all teary right now, can I get some yogurt, please? Hehe.
Strange love and hugs to my Okukolistic Partner @kenechukwu97.
Still yours truly,
