Hello everyone!
It's been a long time since I joined Hive Top Chef by @qurator and this time I don't want to miss it again. Because it's been a month since I've been busy taking care of my sister's child who was entrusted to our house.
The theme this time is related to eggs. When it comes to eggs, there are lots of foods that can be served from egg-based ingredients. There are also various types of eggs, there are chicken, duck and bird eggs. All of these are the most popular eggs sold in the market. Usually I eat chicken eggs and quail eggs, both of which are my favorite foods.
For processed eggs, I really like half-boiled eggs. Moreover, fried eggs (usually called cow eyes) with melted egg yolk mixed with warm rice, so tempting, right? #hivetopchef
But this time there is a special recipe for quail egg lovers, this time I want to share the satay egg recipe. So instead of being curious, let's look at the following recipe!
Quail Eggs Satay
Ingredients:
- 25 pcs quail eggs
- 5 pcs of cayenne pepper
- 3 pcs garlic
- 1 pc onion
- 1 pcs Lemongrass
- 1 pc tomato
- Thamarind dissolved in a little water
- Lime leaves
- Bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Salt and sugar
- Pepper
- Coriander
How to Cook Quail Egg Satay
- Boil eggs for 10 minutes, then let stand for 10-15 minutes. After that peel the egg shell. Wash with clean water and drain.
- Puree the cayenne pepper, garlic lemongrass and tomatoes. Fry with a little oil.
- Enter the bay leaf and lemongrass, then stir and wait until fragrant.
- Enter the oyster sauce, salt, sugar, pepper and thamarind.
- After that, add soy sauce and add the eggs, then add 200 ml of water. Cook for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and wait for it to cool.
- Skewer the eggs and onions with a skewer, then serve.
- Quail egg satay is ready to serve!
Easy way to make it right? It tastes very savory and sweet. Can be a choice of daily recipes for family meals. The price of quail eggs is quite cheap in my place, for 25 quail eggs it costs 10,000 IDR or 0.7$. Cheap enough as a source of animal protein. So want another recipe? Comment below!
See you next one :)
