Good morning, friends!
I wanted to take a moment to briefly remind you today that while pushing yourself in terms of your fitness is great (and frankly necessary to keep progressing), it's also important to treat yourself with KINDNESS.
It's easy to get down on ourselves, be critical, or feel like our improvements are never enough. Spoiler alert: EVERYONE feels this way from time to time, even the fittest people in the world!
While I am all about chasing goals, setting high expectations, and embracing the grind - I also want to acknowledge how important it is to celebrate the small things, focus on the positives, and give yourself credit when credit is due. Having that little bit of a pat on the back can work wonders for maintaining your motivation and discipline!
I'm not saying to go ahead and let yourself slip, or to justify falling off the wagon, or to let yourself off the hook easily... I do think it's wise to be straight up with yourself about how goal-oriented your behaviors and moment-to-moment decisions truly are if you have changes that you really want to make.
But I am saying that even in challenging times or less successful situations, try to avoid tearing yourself down or attacking your soul and character. It's not necessary, and it can be super hurtful not only to your confidence, but also to your momentum!
So be kind to yourself today - take a second to appreciate all of the great things your body has done, can do, and has become. There is beauty in everything, and all effort is good. Give yourself some genuine love and then get back to work!
I hope this finds you all healthy and happy on this beautiful Monday morning! Please feel free to comment, upvote, or resteem if you'd like! :)
