ENGLISH
Greetings everyone, and welcome to my blog.
For weeks, I’ve been wanting to share the ordeal I’ve gone through trying to keep my digital work venture afloat while struggling with my computer equipment. I had three devices that I’d owned for several years: two desktop computers and a mini-laptop.
Beyond the fact that the desktops were starting to require maintenance and replacement parts—and the mini-laptop kept overheating—none of the three machines had the necessary specifications for the work I do. They couldn't handle the required graphic design software or the constant stream of updates, as they were no longer compatible with these newer versions.
Eventually, they all gave out—due to age, heavy use, and the frequent power outages and voltage fluctuations. For the last two months, I’ve been scrambling to get my work done by juggling my daughter’s computer, my mini-laptop (which I had to keep from overheating), and the computer of a friend who happens to be one of my most consistent clients.
That same friend asked for my help over the course of a month with some university assignments. With a bit of extra effort, I decided to set aside the earnings from that project, combined with some savings I already had and a credit option called "Cashea." This month, with a great deal of patience, I managed to complete an online purchase—something I had never dared to do before.
Before that, I had checked prices all over the city, but the costs were prohibitively high. I ended up buying the laptop through a commercial distributor in Caracas via a pre-sale arrangement, which involved a 15-business-day wait that felt like an eternity.
This week, the shipping and delivery process was finally completed—taking a bit longer than expected because it fell over the weekend. I still have two installments left to pay, but the hardest part is over. My long-awaited work computer is finally in my hands, ready for me to continue creating productive and wonderful things. Thank you all for visiting my blog; have a happy Friday.
