Hello dear Hive!
Yes, I’m still alive!
I think my last posts were from Greece, sometime in winter, when we were busking like crazy to get by. Since then we went to Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey and even Georgia, and in between I flew to Germany for six weeks to help my family. And now we’re back in Greece and I feel the urge to blog again, life is funny sometimes ^^
Since we had left our amazing (and life-changing!) house sitting in Bulgaria last summer and moved back into the van, things started to get a little difficult.
My old laptop’s battery broke down, so I wasn’t able to run it in the car. I couldn’t keep on making digital art, which was so frustrating!
I tried to at least keep on blogging via my phone, but it is so old that most apps won’t run on it ^^. I posted my last articles via TravelFeed, the only app that would work kind of okay on the old thing, but it was still a pain.
Also I wasn’t happy with the direction in which my blog was heading. I couldn’t do arts anymore (apart from little sketches in my notebook), so I shared mostly my travelphotography and stories about my travel life.
Don’t get me wrong, I love taking photos and I liked keeping a kind of diary online. But it was not what I actually wanted to do.
I wanna make art and I wanna share art.
I don’t want to be a travel blogger, I want to be an art blogger!
I was uncertain how to move on and all the life challenges we faced at that time didn’t help ^^ So I stopped and we focused on playing music on the streets and getting through that tough cold winter in the van as best as we could.
But this summer, things have changed!
We’re still living in the van, but I was able to buy a new tool, which allowes me to finally work on my digital art again!
Yes, I got an iPad with the apple pen, and I’m so happy now!
Of course I cursed Apple a lot of times, it is a damn big toad to swallow, as we say in German. But I try not to confuse the tool with it’s makers.
It’s a great tool and I love it, because it allowes me to make art in the van, which I so dearly missed during the last year.
I’m just not happy when I can’t create.
I also got a Bluetooth keyboard! I’m using it right now to write this post!
I already painted a lot during the past weeks and I think I’m ready now to share what I’ve created!
I don’t know when I will get back into the nft business though and tokenize my art. What I create now seems quite different to what I’ve done last year, so first I want to see what comes out and just get back into feeling like an artist again.
Last year was so crazy, I got into nfts so very fast and I feel I need to start painting just for the fun of it again, without worrying if anyone would like it. Probably I needed this long break to get more relaxed with art again and find my way back to myself.
Well, that’s it for now! I’m still around and although my life on the road is still weird and it’s almost impossible to cultivate any kind of routine, I will do my best to post some art and stories from time to time.
