En el alba incierta y plomiza,
cielo velado, gris y sombrío,
en un nublado amanecer.
Un rayo se asoma, tímido y frío,
sembrando en la bruma un sueño indeciso.
La esperanza brota, como un hechizo,
en el rincón donde el sol es tardío.
El día despierta, lento y rocío.
En un nublado amanecer;
el mundo se viste de un esplendor preciso.
Que ese rayo de luz ilumine tus días,
como un faro en la penumbra.

The English version differs from the original Spanish version because if I translate it literally, the meaning, rhythm and syllable count are lost.
In the uncertain and leaden dawn,
veiled sky, grey and gloomy,
Overcast dawn.
Lightning peeps out, timid and cold,
Sowing in the mist an undecided dream.
Hope springs up, like a spell,
in the corner where the sun is late.
The day awakens, slow and dewy.
In a cloudy dawn
The world is clothed in precise splendour.
May that ray of light illuminate your days,
like a beacon in the gloom.
