I pushed through a heavy river on my tri-cruiser to reach the government base hidden behind chiralgram rocks. After delivering the cargo and connecting the first area of Australia to the network, Old Auggie gave me the Bola Gun. I then boarded the DHV Magellan to rest and repair my ride.
I looked toward the government base, which was still a long way off across a wide stretch of water. Heading in that direction, chiral rain started pouring down out of nowhere, and the river current grew much stronger.
I didn't have a ladder to bridge the gap, but the destination was too close to turn back. I revved the engine on my tri-cruiser, accelerated straight into the rushing water, and managed to push across the high current without drowning or losing my ride.
The base was hidden right in plain sight, disguised behind artificial chiralgram rocks. I ended up on the back side of the facility, so I jumped over the shelter and carried the cargo inside toward the chime access terminal.
Once I delivered the package, a man as chiralgram came out to inspect the goods. He was surprised I made it straight through BT territory, but he was happy to see the contents were completely intact.
Sam activated the terminal and hooked the base into the Chiral network, successfully connecting the very first section of Australia.
After establishing the link, the man named Old Auggie came back to speak with me. He unlocked a new Bola Gun blueprint for me that fires strands to bind targets, along with some firmware upgrades.
Old Auggie explained that the Chiral network was causing weird environmental changes and larger threats out in the woods, but connecting the region would help build a safer world for everyone.
He gave me a side request to bring a delivery to an old military ally called the Lone Commander, who might be able to teach me how to fabricate sniper rifles. There I got a chance to make the conversation lengthy but I decided to push on.
Shortly after, Charlie called in to congratulate me on linking the first node of the continent. He told me our next big step was to connect the Western Environmental Observatory, warning me to gear up properly since the path ahead was dangerous.
Instead of running right out into the next job, I decided to take a break. The DHV Magellan pulled up near the base to provide shelter, so I drove my damaged trike cruiser into the ship's garage for repairs.
Once the vehicle was safely stored, I headed down to the private room so Sam could sleep. Since I wasn't in a rush to hit the road, I let him sleep straight through until evening.
