How many times we fill our life with everything we can possess. Possessing is the main premise and regent in the life of many, since even before starting our working life, we dream and wish to possess. To own more and better toys as a child, the best and most fashionable clothes as a youngster, the best house, a happy family and a good job as an adult. In this constant coming and going of aesthetic possessions and desires we forget something extremely important, the power that living in simplicity brings. A power that frees our minds and leaves us more space in our hearts to love.
The unnecessary and what we accumulate throughout life not only occupies a physical place but also emotional and carries its weight, whether we like it or not, that makes that sometimes the more cluttered we have the house of objects that we believe useful, the more our soul and brain fills with thoughts that hinder the natural flow of ideas and primary emotions. There is a phrase that always resonates in my memory, although I do not remember where I heard it for the first time. The phrase in question is to empty the house is to clear the mind. When we make room in our house we are achieving not only a good visual rest to our sight but the opportunity to fill that new space with new emotions, hence the need to live in simplicity, to always have room for the new, for what is to come.
Time passes without haste, but it does not command. When you feel the need to accumulate for the future, that only means that you are letting the present run, that is where being simpler can be the liberation of decisions when choosing what to do or what not to do. If your environment is ruled by accumulation, you will expend twice as much energy as you would have if you had embraced simplicity. Eat for the delicious taste of food not to satiate hunger to bursting, sleep to rest not for the obligation of the coming night, work with purpose not by routine. Live simply, buying only what you need and not for empty possession, saving is easier if you know what you want, and if you want simplicity in your life you will definitely save more. Now is enough, simplicity is the way.
