Low-Health Monsters Were at Risk — Heavy Tanks Secured My Victory
Todays 50 mana battle was very interesting and I got the opportunity to play this battle with two easy rulesets where I scored a great victory in 8 rounds. The game took some time because both teams had heavy health monsters on the field but my monster selection and positioning worked perfectly on the battlefield.
I have good win rates in high mana battles because of the high mana capacity which allows me to select the best monsters in the deck and also to plan my strategy according to the rulesets.
In any high mana battle it is important that you first understand the rulesets properly and then select your monsters accordingly. If you do this your chances of winning will become much higher.
Before moving toward the battle breakdown and my strategy first lets understand the rulesets what is explained in these rulesets and what strategy and monster combination I made according to them.
RULESET 1: EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
This is a ruleset where all units have the Opportunity ability. And what does this Equal Opportunity ruleset do? It allows all melee and ranged attackers to target the enemy unit with the least health regardless of any position.
Because of this ability backline monsters with low health become extremely vulnerable because enemy attackers will bypass the front tank and hit them directly.
According to this ruleset it is necessary to adopt a strategy where you use monsters with high health and good armor across all positions so your weaker units do not get eliminate in the early attacks.
RULESET 2: UP TO ELEVEN
This is a ruleset where all units have the Amplify ability. And what does this ruleset do? It increases the damage of Retaliate and all punishment abilities like Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Thorns by 1.
According to this ruleset it is necessary to adopt a strategy where you take advantage of punishment effects. There is no need of any monster selection that best fits this ruleset, because all monster will get this ability.
MY STRATEGY AND MONSTERS SELECTION
Keeping these two rulesets in mind what strategy did I adopt and which monsters did I select? I knew that under Equal Opportunity I needed high health cards and strong melee strikes to take down the enemy's weakest units step by step.
First of all I selected my Archon which gives +1 Health boost to my team. This extra health is helpful in these rulesets because it keeps my entire team safer from early targeting.
On the front line I selected Dire Bear which is a powerful Mundane Beast with 10 mana cost 2 melee attack and having high health power that best fits the first position as a primary tank monster.
In the second position I selected a reach ability melee attacker which will keep on attacking while being on 2nd position.
In the third position I selected a strong magic attacker which will keep on performing magic attacks every round. This will be helpful to destroy high armor monsters quickly.
In the fourth and fifth position I selected a combination of range and magic attackers. these two monsters will keep on attacking aggressively.
In the sixth position I selected another melee attacher with having high health. this is because to protect from ruleset 1.
ON THE BATTLEFIELD
When I looked at the enemy lineup on the battlefield it was also quite interesting. They had selected their main front tank backed by Dread Tafarian which is strong healer as well and other strong attackers.
The battle started with heavy strikes coming from both sides targeted units with the lowest health values. Low health monsters were being eliminating one by one.
In the early rounds both sides made heavy strikes. My frontline held the front line very well while my middle monsters keep on attacking.
By Round 4 and Round 6 the battle reached its main turning point. The enemy lost their key damage dealers one by one because my team focused down their low health cards continuously.
In Round 8 my team took complete control of the final round. At this stage the battle was 2 vs 1 and that was the victory points.
At the end of Round 8 I got a very good victory. The main reason for this outcome was that I selected strong high health monsters and made a good combination after understanding the rulesets properly.
That is why if you understand the rulesets properly and plan your strategy according to it the victory is yours.
What would your strategy be in this type of ruleset and which monsters would you give more preference to? will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
