Hi guys how are you all? I hope you’re all doing great
Today I’m back again with another Splinterlands monster review and the monster I’m going to talk about today is Giant Alpine Skink
Giant Alpine Skink is a Common monster from the Rebellion Reward set and it is mainly a frontline monster which can be a very useful option when you need a strong tank for your Water lineup
One of its main and most important abilities is Shield. This ability makes it very effective against melee and ranged attacks and because of this ability Giant Alpine Skink can survive for a long time when you place it in the first position
If we talk about its mana cost it costs 8 mana which makes it a suitable choice for medium and high mana battles where you want to build a strong lineup while managing your mana
It has a melee attack which means it can attack enemy monsters from the first position and at higher levels it becomes even more powerful with 4 melee attack at max level
Now let’s talk about its speed and health. At max level Giant Alpine Skink has 5 speed which is a very useful advantage because its speed can help it dodge incoming attacks
It has 9 health which gives it good durability and when this is combined with its Shield ability it becomes a very strong monster against physical attackers
Now let’s talk about its abilities
The first and most important ability is Shield
which reduces the damage taken from enemy melee and ranged attacks. This can be very useful when your opponent is relying heavily on physical attackers
At higher levels Giant Alpine Skink gets its second ability Phase.
Phase gives the monster a chance to dodge magic attacks based on its speed and since its speed becomes quite good at higher levels this ability can make Giant Alpine Skink much harder to take down
When this monster reaches its max level it also gets Stun.
With Stun Giant Alpine Skink has a chance to stun an enemy after a successful attack and when a monster is stunned it loses its chance to attack which can have a big impact on the battle
So as we can see Giant Alpine Skink has a very interesting combination of Shield Phase and Stun
Now if we talk about its best position I would say the first position is the best place for this monster because it is a melee monster and needs to be close to the enemy to attack. At the same time its defensive abilities help it handle incoming damage very well
So why should you use Giant Alpine Skink?
In my opinion it can be a great option in medium and high mana battles when you need a Water tank that can both defend your team and deal good damage
It can also be very valuable in battles where your opponent relies heavily on physical attacks because its Shield ability can give you a very good advantage
Overall I think Giant Alpine Skink is a very solid card. It is not just a monster that sits in the first position and absorbs damage. It can also deal good damage and has abilities that improve its performance against different types of enemies
At max level it has 4 melee attack 5 speed and 9 health along with Shield Phase and Stun and when all these abilities and stats are combined it can become a very good frontline monster
For players who are building a strong Water collection I think this is definitely a card worth considering especially if you often play medium and high mana battles
So that’s it for today’s post. I hope you guys found this review helpful
