Hello friends. This is my first blog post ever, and I was thinking. What better way to start a blog than sharing a few ideas about what we all need and love. Food. I'm really excited about this, so lets get started 😀.
Today I'm going to show you how to prepare one of my favorite dishes that I eat after a strong workout. It's tasty and it contains all the essential aminoacids which is awesome for our body's recovery. A big deal for those who don't eat meat too (like me) 😉. Todays recipe is integral rice with beans. A classic.
Here is all you need to have:
-2 240g cans of beans
-1 glass of whole rice
-an oil of your choice (im using unrefined corn oil)
-2 medium sized onions
-1/3 bell pepper
-1 and a half carrots
-salt
Step 1:
Place your pan on the hob at the lowest temperature (with oil in it). Begin with the onion (not the browser) and slice it into small pices like so.
When the oil gets worm place the sliced onion into the pan and set the fire on a slightly higher temperature.
Step 2:
Slice the bell pepper into little pieces and place it into the pan when the onion starts to get a slightly orange color.
The onion and the bell pepper should cook together for 10 minutes( if the maximum temperature is 3 I'll use 1)
Step 3:
While the 10 minutes pass you should slice the carrots to get them ready to be added.
Add the carrots into the pan, set the fire to a medium level (that i consider maximum) and ad 200/250 ml of water to the mix. Here you can add the condiments too (salt helps the legumes to soften). Let them cook together for another 10 minutes.
Step 4:
Open the cans of beans and add them into the pan after letting the onions, bell pepper and the carrots cook together for 10 minutes . You can use some of the water inside one can to add extra flavor.
Now you have to cook them for another 10 to 15 minutes (if the maximum temperature is 3 i'd use 1.5). You can cook the beans for as long as you like depending on how thick you want the mixture to be :).
Step 5:
The rice part is really simple. Just take a pot of your choice and add 2 parts of water at 1 part of rice.
For example at one cup of rice add two cups of water. That is the right ratio and the rice is going to cook perfectly. Wash the rice before using it. Add the water into the pot and set the temperature to maximum to make the water boil. After the water started boiling add the rice and set the temperature back to a low level (max 3 I'd use 1) and cook it for 15 to 20 minutes. When the water in the pot is gone take the pot off the hob, cover it with a plate and leave it for 10 minutes.
The final result should look something like this.
I hope this was helpful for all health lovers out there. Until next time i wish you all Good Appetite!
