Ever since I stopped hating the way my hair looks, I’ve been on the hunt for the ultimate treatment that would give my hair softness, definition, and—above all—shine... I’ve tried a lot of things, but after a while they stop working for me—it’s as if my hair gets bored of always using the same products. Recently, I found three products that, at least for me, have worked really well, and every day I can say that I’m accepting my hair a little more.
Starting with this shampoo, which has left my hair looking absolutely gorgeous—the scent is strong, and I don’t really like it that much because I find it pretty overpowering and, to me, it smells a bit like an older woman, haha, but most people love the scent of this shampoo, and I have to say that the scent lasts a LONG time—I went three days without washing my hair, and it still smelled just like it did on day one. It also adds a lot of shine, and the texture of my hair changed to soft waves.
This is what my hair looked like the first time I used this shampoo—so soft and silky. I'd never seen my hair like this before, and I can't even imagine what it would look like if I had long hair.
Along with this shampoo—which, by the way, is a 2-in-1—I also use this hair mask from Farmatodo, a pretty popular pharmacy chain in my country. I bought this mask by mistake, thinking it was styling cream, since the styling cream container looks exactly like this one. It was my fault for not reading the label, but it’s also their fault for not being more creative with their packaging, hahaha, Anyway, the point is that I started using it and I love the scent and how it leaves my hair feeling—I feel like it makes it soft and fresh.
And finally, the styling cream I bought a month ago—it has a coconut scent. It smells divine, although you can’t really smell it in my hair since the shampoo’s scent is stronger and overpowers it. I use this styling cream to “define” my curls, but I’m not one of those people who defines each curl individually; The whole point of keeping my hair natural is to avoid all that fuss and not waste my time making curly hair just as tedious—or even more so—than keeping it straightened. I just apply it to my hands, rub it in, and then work it into my hair using the “scrunch” technique—that is, squeezing my hair from the bottom up to form curls. Some days it looks great, and other days it just looks a little messy, but I don’t care anymore; as long as my hair feels healthy and soft, it’s fine by me.
