Hello dear community, it's been a long time since I made such a detailed drawing, using a diffuse brush as I did before, lately I make my portraits with a brush with a more rustic texture simulating chalk, I quite like both styles because with the chalk brush they have that different and semi-realistic texture, but with the diffuse brush you can see a quite good level of softness in the image, as if you could touch the skin and feel it just by looking at it, it really is impressive what we can do with different tools .
So today I made this portrait titled "Bloody tears" this style of drawing is the one I started with almost two years ago, I would like to make a kind of series with this style of blood tears, you will probably see more works like this.
Proceso/Process
The sketch was a bit complicated, especially in the part of the hair, the idea that I had mainly discarded it completely, really this drawing would have a kind of crack in the center of the face and flowers coming out of there, but after finishing the skin I immediately regretted my drawing and making this crack, it looked very ugly, I feel like it didn't fit as it was seen in my mind, so I decided to modify the sketch and erase that crack.
I began to paint on a new layer, applying the colors of her skin without much care, adding light in front and shadow behind, little by little and making new layers I was able to shape this face, all this I did with the diffuse brush, varying its opacity and size for a better result in those parts that needed more detail.
Until now my girl was bald haha, that bothered me a lot, but I had to finish her face first, once her face was fully formed I started painting her hair using brown/orange tones with the fuzzy brush I started drawing little hairs of a light tone, then the same, but with dark tones, I changed the crack for something that I like to paint and that is: blood.
It occurred to me to make tears of blood coming out of his eyes, also drawing traces of blood lines inside the eye and with an overlay shoe I would give a more reddish tone to his eyes and nose, paint his eyebrows and eyelashes, with small hairs of light colors where the light hit it more and dark colors where there was a little more shadow, I thought it was very nice to paint some earrings, which I actually did without much care, just to try but they turned out great haha.
I painted a small crown on her head and from here I only began to give more details of light and darkness in some areas, correcting everything that I did not like so much and thus arriving at my final result.
I hadn't used this technique for so long that I still have pain in my hand, it was quite difficult to achieve this result but ultimately I loved it very much, this style has always been the one that I liked the most and the one that I have represented the most, I hope you like it You liked it as much as I did, thank you.
