My Daily Training |
"Hola, hombros, 驴c贸mo est谩n hoy?".
隆Un abrazo!
Hello, a warm greeting to all my friends in the #liketu and #hive communities, and a very special greeting to all my friends and colleagues in the #swc community! It's an honor to be able to address you at this moment. My name is Alejo (@alejo-sw), I'm a calisthenics athlete, and today I want to share with you all about my day, especially my training.
It's been a strange few weeks, the kind that force you to stop completely. It wasn't just a cold; it was a high fever that left me feeling weak, and bone pain that was exhausting. Every day was like staring at the ceiling and listening to my body complain in a new way. The worst part was the feeling of distance. My training space, usually my refuge, seemed miles away. I missed the feeling of the ground beneath my hands and that peace of mind that only comes after a good effort.
But today, finally, dawned different. My head was clear, and my body, although weak, didn't hurt. I knew I couldn't just charge forward as if nothing had happened. So I put on my training clothes with a mixture of excitement and respect. Respect for this body that has been struggling to recover.
The warm-up was longer and more careful than ever. Each stretch was like saying hello to a part of me that had been dormant. "Hello, shoulders, how are you today?" "Come on, dolls, I trust you." The stiffness was noticeable, as if everything had taken root during the rest.
As I lowered myself to do the first push-ups, reality hit me immediately. What had once been easy was now a real struggle. My chest protested earlier than usual, but it was a good pain, the pain of the working muscle, not the other, the pain of illness. The pike push-ups reminded me that strength doesn't completely disappear, it just hides a little.
Then it was time for the more challenging exercises: the lean planche and the tuck planche. This was where humility truly kicked in. Attempting the lean planche position was a shock. My core felt incredibly weak. The holds were short and shaky, but holding them for even three seconds filled me with enormous determination. With the push-ups and tuck holds, something similar happened. It was a constant fight against the trembling, but amid that trembling, I found a spark of joy. The joy of trying again.
Finally, I wanted to play a little with the free handstand. It was about falling and getting up, laughing at my own swings, and enjoying the simplicity of being upside down. It wasn't perfect, but it was real.
Today wasn't about being strong or weak. It was about reconnecting, listening to every signal, and being grateful for the opportunity to move. It's just the first step, but how important that first step is.
Thank you so much for reading and for being part of this process. See you in the next post, with more steps on this journey back. Hugs!
