The Skies Are Caribbean Blue

OUT AND ABOUT AS LONDON GETS BACK TO NORMAL

IMG_6933.jpeg

We have a few days of Caribbean blue skies before the rain returns next week. I've been seizing the opportunity to get out and stretch my legs in the crispy cold weather. I don't actually mind that it's cold, it just has to be sunny and I'm happy. You can dress for the cold, but you can't dress for the gloom.

It was nice to see life beating on at a normal pace in London. People, young and old, are getting out of their cocoons and enjoying life again. The number of cases of COVID has spiked up a bit, which is to be expected following the removal of all restrictions, but I expect the numbers to start to plummet again after the new infections are (hopefully) quickly overcome.

All things remaining normal, it does seem that we're all set for a great summer for a change. I just hope what's happening in Ukraine doesn't spread across Europe and the world. That wouldn't be a good thing by any stretch of the imagination.

I walked past the high street before getting into a bit of nature. An old, previously abandoned shop is currently being renovated. I saw a sign saying "coffee shop opening soon". How exciting! I can't wait to see what it's like. We already have many cool coffee shops in my area, but it's highly residential here and we can't have enough of coffee shops. From just glancing at the sign itself, I expect this to be another trendy place. It's quite small though, so probably not ideal for an all-day sit in with my computer :)

Talking of computers and cafes, there is a park near me with a cafe and a large outdoor sitting area. When the weather improves a little, perhaps next month or the following, I intend to turn that into one of my offices. I aim to be more outdoors than indoors in day time this year. I'm lucky to have the globally sought after "laptop lifestyle" and can work from anywhere, so why not take advantage of it? Ideally I would love to be sitting at a beach in The Gambia or one of the Canary Islands, but a summery day in a park is a distant second :)

I hope you are well, where ever you are reading this from. I wish you a pleasant day, a peaceful spring/autumn time and a joyful 2022. God knows, we all deserve a little break.

Peace & Love,

Adé
