Rainy BBQ 🌧
COOKING UNDER AN UMBRELLA ☂️
Hahaha. It didn't say it was going to rain when the idea of a BBQ was floated and I agreed to put some coal on fire.. A few minutes into the BBQ, the sky opened and I had to stand there with an umbrella to cover the food, and myself, while everyone else went indoors haha.
I know what you're thinking. Why not cover the BBQ because with the cover and let it do it's thing while I went indoors too. Right? Well, I didn't wash that part of the BBQ so it wasn't clean enough to cover the food with. Sadly.
I ended up eating my burger in the rain too haha. The coal died, sadly, before the corn was done so I had to improvise with the grill indoors. It was still nice to have the family over, but the rain ruined the planned outdoorsy time.
It's still officially Summer, but the weather is starting to seem more like Autumn as is expected at this time of year. Many schools have also opened this week so the noise levels have gone up dramatically - especially between 2-3pm when the neighbourhood schools close.
To be honest, I'm not looking forward to winter this year. It represents not just cold weather, dark days, but also expensive energy costs. It will be yet another winter that I didn't make it out to the Canary Islands as dreamt for so long :/
Peace & Love,
