Top Selling Albums of the 1980's - Spot #92

Born in 1971 this artist became the youngest female artist to top the Billboard 100 with a debut album.

In slot #92 we have Tiffany with the album of the same name released in 1987 when she was the tender age of 16

Starting her earlier singing career in Country & Western (I wish she had stuck to that then I would not have to be listening to her now  ), she was ‘discovered’ by veteran musician Hoyt Axton while performing at a local Los Angeles club.

She teamed up with manager George Tobin and switched to bubblegum music … (Editors Note: bubblegum music is only a teeny weeny bit higher up the music chain then Country & Western)

I think we’re alone now

On release of her album she did a US promotional tour to shopping centers and eventually her cover version of Tommy James and the Shondell’s hit made it to number one, pushing the album to the top of the chart replacing none other than Michael Jackson’s Bad

I saw Him Standing There …………… another cover , this time that of the Lennon / McCartney standard ( I can see poor John spinning in his grave).

All in all there were three hits from the album including the follow up to I Think We’re Alone Now and that is the last we will take from this album

Could’ve Been ….. her C&W roots evident in this song !!
