The level of success, and the achievements you hope to enjoy tomorrow is mutually dependent on the level of preparation you put in today. The kind of success that you wish to experience will not happen by accident. A lot of the people who have achieved mind-blowing and great things in various fields did not just happen by sheer luck but some of them came by years of hard work, sacrifices, discipline, and determination. You may see people celebrate their success when it becomes visible, but at the base of it are some invisible efforts that made it possible. The truth is that the kind of tomorrow you want to see will be built by the level of your preparation today.

Preparation cuts across many aspects of life. The first one is to prepare your mind before challenges come. You cannot run away or avoid the challenges of life. More often than not, the challenges may even come without prior warning, so as to test your patience, your emotional strength, and your wisdom. This is why you have to train your mind to always think positively. Train your mind to remain calm even in the midst of pressure, to learn from errors, and to see the challenges of life as tools and opportunities for growth. When you develop and prepare your mind, it will be easier for you to handle the challenges of life.
In addition to preparing your mind, you also need to develop your skills before opportunities come knocking on the door. Imagine someone who has always wanted to be a web developer, but spends years refusing to learn the necessary skills. Finally, someone recommends a web designing gig for him, but when the job came, he did not know how to proceed because he obviously did not build the required skill. Do not wait until the day that you will need a particular skill before you start to learn it. Work on yourself, read books, acquire new knowledge, practise constantly, attend training programmes.
You also need to build financial discipline before emergency situations arise. A lot of people have found themselves in a difficult financial situation simply because they did not prepare for it. But when you are prepared through financial discipline, you will be able to find a way out. There was a time when a friend of mine was suspended from work for about 6 months for an investigation that was going on. In those 6 months, he was not paid. It was the money he had saved in the past that he had to live on until he was reinstated. Now imagine if he was not financially disciplined enough to save money, he would have suffered a major hit. This is why you need to prepare yourself financially too.

Then you also need to start working on your dreams even before you feel that you are ready. A lot of people keep postponing their dreams and their ideas because they are waiting for a perfect time. They wait for more support, more connections, more confidence, or even better condition before that take any step. What they fail to understand is that these supposed perfect conditions that they are waiting for might not come. You may not have all the details already figured out, and you may not see the destination already in view before you take your first ever step. You can start with what you have, and with what you know, then in due course, you will make improvements when necessary. The small steps that you take today will be part of what will bring you closer to creating the kind of dreams you want.
When preparing, you should prepare constantly even when no one is watching you. More often than not, preparation happens in silence. Nobody may see the midnight candle you burn just to study hard, no one may take notice of how you wake up early in the morning to prepare for the day, no one may notice the efforts you put in to learn new skills. But these seemingly unnoticed actions will sum up to produce significant and remarkable success over time.
