Dear young ones,
I need to talk to you like an elder brother.

I know you want to be great. I know you want to make money, blow, build a house for your mama, drive a fine car, become famous.
Every young person wants glory.

But let me tell you a bitter truth that many will not tell you.

Your glory is not waiting for you in the future but your glory is being built or destroyed by your discipline today.

And if you keep postponing discipline, you will postpone and eventually cut short your glory.

I see many young ones around me in Enugu, in school, online.
Talented boys who can code, draw, play ball, sing.
Brilliant girls who can create content, do business, lead but they all say the same thing "I will start tomorrow."

Tomorrow you will start waking up early.
Tomorrow you will stop smoking.
Tomorrow you will stop sleeping around.
Tomorrow you will start learning that skill.
Tomorrow you will stop pressing phone from morning till night.
Tomorrow you will start saving.

My dear, tomorrow is a thief.

How postponing discipline is cutting your glory:

  1. You postpone sleep discipline and waste your morning.
You sleep by 2am pressing ecency and Instagram, you wake up by 10am tired and scattered.
The men who will employ you wake up by 5am.
The world does not wait for latecomers.
If you cannot control your night, you cannot control your future.

  2. You postpone financial discipline.
You see N5,000 today, you want to use it to buy shawarma and data to impress people online.
You don't save and you don't invest, you don't learn. At 25 you will be broke and blaming village people, but it was lack of discipline, not village people.

  3. You postpone body and relationship discipline.
Young boy, you follow every girl you see. Young girl, you open your body to every boy who promises you iPhone like in my country Nigeria.
You are trading your future glory for 10 minutes of pleasure.
Sex is not achievement and a scattered life will scatter your glory.

  4. You postpone learning discipline.
You want to be like Elon Musk but you can't read a book for 30 minutes.
You want to be a big content creator but you can't post consistently for 30 days.
You want to be a footballer but you don't train.
    Remember that glory respects discipline.

Listen to me, young ones.

Nobody is coming to save you.
Your parents will try, but they will not be here forever.
The government is not coming.
That rich uncle is not coming.
Your discipline is your savior.

I am not the most talented person in my generation.
But one thing that has kept me going is this, I do what I need to do even when I don't feel like doing it, especially when preparing for hard things like my parents' burial, or pushing that Ishiagu lead project.

That is discipline.

I encourage you from today,

  • Wake up when you said you will wake up.
  • Save that small money.
  • Say no to that distraction.
  • Learn that skill for 1 hour daily.
  • Pray, read and work.

Do it badly at first, but do it daily.
Because consistency is better than intensity.

Dear young ones, your tomorrow is not too far. In 5 years, you will either be enjoying the fruit of your discipline or crying about the pain of your indiscipline.

Choose now. Don't postpone discipline, or life will postpone your glory.

Which area of discipline are you struggling with most right now?
Is it to sleep, money, relationships, or learning?
Tell me in the comments, let's be honest and grow together.
