Went on an awesome hike yesterday evening! Hiked up to Rattlesnake Cliff on Mount Moosalamoo.
The lookout is at 1946 ft. The view is awesome. You can see the Adirondacks across the Lake Champlain valley in New York. You can see Lake Champlain in the distance. The overlook is directly above Lake Dunmore and you can see Silver Lake and Fern Lake which are all at the base of Mount Moosalamoo.
Lake Dunmore was foggy. The lake is still iced over but it was 50F yesterday so the fog was rising off the ice.
When the sun peaked out, you could see the Adirondacks more clearly on the far horizon. At the end of Lake Dumore is Fern Lake and the small lake above Fern Lake is Mud Lake.
Silver Lake is much higher than Lake Dunmore. It is between the peaks in this view looking south, above the snowy mountain side.
The really cool part about this hike for me is that my favorite view of Lake Dunmore looks directly at Mount Moosalamoo. The Rattlesnake Cliff overlook is on Mount Moosalamoo, the mountain directly across the lake in this shot that I take almost every day on my walk 馃檪
The sun was starting to peak out under the clouds on its way down in this pano. You can see all the lakes I have mentioned in this shot.
It was a little icy. I wore micro spikes. Well at least after I slipped a couple of times 馃檮 The sunset was just coming but we couldn't wait for it. We still had about a 1.5 hour hike back and ended up hiking after dark in the icy woods anyway.
