Today, some photos of hydrangeas. These large blooms are pink and white right now. This is a panicle hydrangea.
These are a different type of hydrangea growing on the south side of my house outside our screened in porch.
As the blooms open then fade, they change colors. These always start white.
We are lucky that the first owners of our house planted a lot of hydrangeas.
The house is 20 years old now so the hydrangeas are well established. Its like the old cliche about planting an apple tree. "When is the best time to plant an apple tree, 20 years ago. The second best time, today."
This is about three large hydrangeas growing all together.
The hydrangeas start midsummer but last until fall. Its a great bit of color in the late summer. Fall officially starts September 22. Today sunset will be before 7pm (6:58pm). The longest day of summer it was at 8:38pm.
