We recently took a roadtrip up to Maine for my wife's birthday. Its about 3 hours to the coast and a couple more up north to Bar Harbor.
We stayed in Bangor so we had to get up painfully early to make low tide (6 am) and sunrise (6:30 am).
It was totally worth it 馃槏 at low tide a land bridge is exposed going from the town of Bar Harbor to Bar Island out in the harbor.
We walked across, climbed to the tallest point on Bar Island, and were back before the tide came in. Very cool morning 馃檪
