Hello creatives, welcome to my blog, I hope you are great where ever you are. I am glad to be a part of this community, filled with great minds and lots of creativity.

Today, I will like to share with us the process of how I made this beautiful Basque blouse, with its unique sleeves, I enjoyed the process of making this top as it was very easy to do and it took less time, approximately two hours from start to finish.

Wondering what the Basque mean, it's just a big word that means the V-shape at the base of the blouse.

Without further ado, let's get right Into the process

Materials/Tools used

African print fabric(also known as ankara)
Lining fabric
Matching thread
Soft stay(interfacing)
Zipper
Scissors and my sewing machine

Process

Starting, I drafted a bustier bodice pattern for the front, and a normal bodice for the back using pattern paper.

I replicated the patterns on the fabrics, for both the front and back,

I ironed the interfacing at the wrong side of the fabric to give it more firmness, next I joined the pieces pattern together, also holding in the darts.

I turned the main fabric with the lining fabric to give it a clean finish.

Then join both at the shoulder.

It's time to make the sleeves pattern, which is divided into three sections, a basic sleeve, wrist band/cuff, and the gathered part. I cut out two pieces of each, obviously, we have two hands😃.

Me preparing the base of the sleeve, the cuffs, and the gathered area, which I joined to the basic sleeve.

I joined it to the blouse, and also stitched the two sides of the blouse using the measurement required.

And here is the final look.🥰.
