A lot of dreams and desires we all have, but sometimes the emotion of fear makes it feel impossible or too difficult to achieve. Other times fear comes as a result of a perception of danger or failure.

In the world today where most of us are more concerned about what others think of us, the fear of being criticized, makes it even worse for us to come out of our shell or comfort zone to prove them wrong, even if we fail, at least, it's more fulfilling knowing we tried.

Talking about my fears is not something I like doing very much because from experience it always somehow haunts me in the near future, then I have no other choice but to face it or feel defeated. It's best to share the ones I overcame.

I've always had the fear of having to depend on someone all my life, you know as a human and a woman particularly, we are always expected to be dependent. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not referring to being respectful or a submissive wife, being dependent is having to rely on someone for all your needs. I know this is the life some people pray for, but that isn't me.

The very thought scares me to the bone, maybe it's as a result of how I grew up not having enough or the feeling of always being disappointed over and over again, a few years back, I've managed to find a niche for myself that has helped me overcome this fear. Apart from God, I don't feel that fear of not being enough for myself, and this dives deep into my emotional and mental health, I expect nothing from anyone, that way, my peace and mental state have been preserved.

I believe this is how most of us should learn to live our lives, especially women or men who easily get bruised emotionally, learn to live above that fear of not being enough for yourself, strive to be better every day, and with time, you would realize that no one owes you anything, and you shouldn't give anyone the power to make you feel down or overwhelmed because trust me, they would always end up wielding it wrongly.

I think the greatest victory over fear is not really the absence of it, it always presents itself, as what if, it is the courage we have to keep moving despite it. Life will definitely always present us with reasons to doubt ourselves, and people will always want to make us feel down, but we shouldn't allow either to determine how far we go. As long as we keep learning, growing, and becoming better versions of ourselves, we are already winning.

I have learned that being enough for myself doesn't mean I don't need people or that I can never ask for help, it just means I know I will be okay, regardless of who stays or leaves. We shouldn't allow fear to determine how we live our lives.
