Right after enjoying the Charms of Cameron Highlands (Botanical Garden, Bee Farm, Strawberry Farm, and the relaxing tour of Tea Plantation) we hopped on the bus back to Malaysia's capital City, Kuala Lumpur.
Exploring Kuala Lumpur
The bus ride from Cameron to Kuala Lumpur was about 5 hours. It was not an easy ride especially for people with motion sickness because the vehicles had to traverse a long winding cliffside roads. In fact first thing that I noticed inside the bus were the plastic bags in each seat in case the passenger feels sick.
Anyway, we made it to Kuala Lumpur at 10pm - just about perfect to see the Petronas Twin Tower sparkling in the deep of the night.
Petronas Tower
Petronas Tower is the world's tallest twin skyscraper and Malaysia's tallest buiding until 2022. It was surpassed by Merdeka 118 building a few months ago.
We did not stay long because we have the catch the last train. We were also tired from the Cameron Highlands trip and had to prepare for tomorrow flight back to our country - hectic day!
China Town - Malaysia
The following morning was our last day in Malaysia but our flight departs in the afternoon so we still have time to explore a few places in the city. We decided to check out earlier so we don't have to go back to collect our bags. Yes! We explored a few more places with our luggages. LOL
Our day started in China Town which was very close to our hotel.
If you are looking for souvenirs to take home to your friends and family back home, Petaling Street Market has a lot to offer.
The equally busy Kasturi Walk is a stretch of stalls that sell souvenirs and fashion items.
Finally reaching the Central Market. We just went window shopping because we were literally broke - Two Broke Girls in Singapore continues to Malaysia.
Masjid Jamek Mosque
One does not have to be a Muslim to appreciate the grand structure, Masjid Jamek Mosque. It was closed for visitors when we arrived and for we were refrained from taking photos.
Merdeka Square / Independent Square
My trips are not complete without feeding my hunger for everything historical. I believe that learning and visiting a piece of a place's history adds up to the authenticity of the experience. It makes us connect more to the places we are visiting.
It was a really hot day and we can only bare it for a couple of minutes but the sun gave us the best light for photos.
Saw this gallery nearby but we don't have time to explore the interior. My friend took a few more photos while I try to hide from the scorching heat.
That ends our quick visit to the city. Despite the heat, we really enjoyed roaming around. Would have been more fun if we had more time but we have a flight to catch.
If you are visiting Asia, consider exploring Malaysia because as I said in my previous blog, this country has a lot to offer.
Thank you for staying with me up to this point, see you in the next one!
