These days on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, the weather is not summer, it often rains and it is not possible to enjoy sunbathing and swimming.
And then what is left?
The weather is not suitable for swimming (unless we count on the rain), but it is possible to enjoy a walk.
And that's in the #Wednesdaywalk where today I present a beautiful town.
**Tossa de mar **
Towels and bathing suits were put away, we dressed comfortably for a walk and went to nearby Tossa.
A small coastal town with a beautiful fortress on a hill that has stood over the town as a guardian for centuries.
In addition to several reconstructed towers with paths on which it is possible to move freely, there are also the remains of a church from the 10th century.
The ruined church has been rebuilt so that part of the vault and one side wall with an opening overlooking the bay in the city can be seen.
One of the interesting things on the fortress is the sculpture of Ava Gardner, which has its own square.
And old guns are also interesting to me.
And on top of the hill, at the highest point, towards the open sea, there is a lighthouse.
The view of the open sea from the hill on which the lighthouse is located is difficult to describe in words, and that's why I'm adding as many pictures as they say more than a thousand words.
When leaving the fortress, next to the walls, it is possible to go down to the large city beach, as well as to a small beach tucked between the hills.
When we came down from the hill on which the fortress is located, we walked around the very neat old town, which is full of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops or shops with handmade items.
We enjoyed visiting this beautiful town so much that we were glad that the weather was pleasant and without strong sun.
If it had been warm, we probably wouldn't have been able to spend so much time walking...
