Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This is going to be Week 57, Edition 01 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to come to an end. We are currently on our first topic for this week which is, “LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last one which was “BOOK SMART VS STREET SMART”. This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on book smart and street smart. What was more important and which one they were more proficient in.
They also shared instances where they had shown their smartness, either in books or in the street. And for many, it was both. We got to see how valuable the knowledge gotten from books and the one gotten in the street could help to shape a person’s life. It was an interesting topic indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w56e3 tags. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. BOOK SMART BOY SAVED A LIFE by @intishar
This author told us about how he once saved the life of a young boy from drowning. He did this by applying first aid knowledge taught in school. He used it on the young boy and saved his life. He was the only one who remembered how it was done, and if not for that, the story might have ended very differently. What an inspiring post.
A COMBINATION OF STREET AND BOOK SMARTNESS GIVES YOU AN EDGE by @vickoly
This author told us about how those around him were always taking advantage of him, but as he grew and learned, he got smarter both by book and by street. By application of his book smartness, he was able to thwart the plans of a scammer. He also talked about how his street smarts came in handy when he had to thwart the plans of another scammer. It was an interesting post indeed.
THE SURVIVAL INSTINCT by @emrysjobber
For this author, he applied both street smartness and book smartness to get a hotel manager to do what he wanted. His first plan didn't work, but after going back to his drawing board and coming up with a different plan, he tried it out, and he was able to clinch the deal. It was an interesting post indeed.
