Coins with lunar themes are released by mints all around the world annually. The Royal Australian Mint produces some of the most well-known, and I like it very much. It is my most favorite series of Lunar coins.
2024 Royal Australian Mint Year of the Dragon
Perhaps it is the design of the obverse of the coin (which is copied by some private mints). All 12 animals on the lunar calendar frame the effigy of the monarch.
Every year, the lunar calendar rotates. This year, the Lunar Dragon is placed directly over the head of Elizabeth II.
Coin Highlights:
- Arrives in a capsule or a roll of 10 coins.
- Celebrates the Year of the Dragon.
- Limited mintage of 50,000.
- Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
- Bears a face value of 1 Dollar backed by Australia.
- The obverse field features Queen Elizabeth II.
- The reverse side showcases a lunar dragon design.

The lunar animal designs are all pleasingly graceful and stylish in appearance! The Lunar Dragon signifies good luck, health, and fortune.
