2021 Tokelau Chronos Silver Coin

I used to stack the Tokelau Turtles. I have more that a couple on hand. And I saw this coin. It had Mermaids in them, and I thought I'd buy it... just for fun.

The Pressburg Mint unveiled the 1 oz silver round collection known as the Tokelau Chronos Series in 2015. It's the first time I have heard of it. The mint produced the 1-ounce silver between 2015 and 2018. The mint changed the series in 2019 to a line of 1 oz silver coins that are accepted as legal currency in Tokelau. Tokelau's official legal money, New Zealand dollars, have been granted a face value to the coins.

2021 1 oz Tokelau Chronos Silver Coin (BU)

The 2021 Tokelau Chronos Silver Coins feature an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse. This fourth-generation design, which was introduced by the Royal Mint of England in 1998, features Elizabeth II, the monarch with the longest reign in British history. This effigy was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley for the mint, and it was used on Australian coins from 2015 to 2018, British coinage until 2015, and coins for Niue, Tuvalu, the Cook Islands, and Tokelau.

The 2021 1 oz Chronos Silver Coins include a new image of a clock on the reverse side. The elaborate clock hands in this year's design element are planned to run from five to twelve minutes. Similar to the obverse background, this side's background field features an infinite pattern. There are mermaids with anchors on this side of the coin.

I think I will hunt for the other Chronos coins with mermaids if I find them. But it seems that Tokelau has this variety of coins, and they can't make up their minds who to go for. The Tokelau turtle is the best so far of what I have seen.

Here is one that I featured recently. 2023 Samoa Mermaid and Daughter. I will show the different mermaid coins I have so far in another article.
