Greetings to the QC community, I am very much elated to join this wonderful community an actually take part in this contest. This contest on emotions has helped me learn more from other people's view of the word and I would love to share mine too.

Is Emotion just a feeling? Or it is worth more than that?. We can all view things differently but the main focus is that we come out with something meaningful and understandable.

What is Emotion

I would love to tag emotion as a feeling because that's what it is.

Emotion is a feeling which is caused by one's relationship with others, or the mood in which the person is in. It can last for a short period of time and it is always caused by something known.

We can easily keep track on someone's emotion, because it can be expressed physically. The facial reaction will easily tell, what kind of emotion that is expressed. We have several kinds or types of emotions which we are very aware of, and everyone has been a victim of these. I would love to list the types and kind of emotions.

Types of Emotions

1- Positive Emotion
2- Negative Emotion

Positive Emotions are emotions that will bring positivity to a person, like happiness, joyfulness, etc. While negative emotions consist of anger, fear and even guilt which will bring in negativity.

Examples of Emotions

1- Happiness : This is the state of being extremely happy. This state can lead to a positive mindset and can be triggered by the environment or friends.
2- Anger : This is like an opposite of being happy, it is a state of being angry. It can be caused by someone or an event, it is a very bad state which someone can find himself in, because it can lead to destruction or loss of life if it is in its extreme state.
3- Being sad : yes, being sad is an emotion, which a person's mood changes from being happy to then being sad. It just sits in the middle of being happy and angry. You're not either angry or happy, you're just sad.

Many people do interchange emotions and moods, yes they're closely related but they have few differences.

Emotions and Mood

As I explained earlier, emotions are merely changes that is caused by the environment or person and it doesn't last too long. But when we talk or mood, sometimes it doesn't even have a known starting point, it just comes on and it lasts longer than emotions, and it can be made up of different emotions all together. So emotions and moods are related but it differs in its durability.

We can control certain emotions, like the negative emotions due to its effect on our well-being and lively hood.

Emotional Regulations

I will term emotional regulation as a state of being able to regulate or control our emotions. It has a lot and let's us learn how to control these emotions without actually causing damages to them. Emotional regulation is very important because is let's us have full control of our emotions, and knowing fully well what to do at the stage.

Differences between regulating and suppressing our emotions

We now know that emotional regulation is a state of being able to control our emotions, from this definition we can easily define what emotional suppression is and also know the differences between emotional suppression and depression.
Emotional suppression is a state of not being able to control our emotions, which may lead to depression, anxiety and so on.

How I Regulate my emotions

Yes, I know how I Regulate my emotions. When you're under the influence of something, over time you will know how it moves, and how you can control it. You know it's weakness, what it wants and so on. After carefully studying my emotions I know how I can regulate mine.

My advice on how to regulate emotions

Firstly, you have to identify this emotion, that is the most important way/step which we can take to regulate our emotions. From there we can tackle it since we know what it is.
