I did a little research on Google and discovered the history of music dates back to over 40 years ago, there have been different forms of music that have existed in different regions at different times in history. Starting from Ancient Greece(way before 440 BC), the Middle Ages (went through to 1450 CE), Renaissance age(from the 1400s - 1600s), the Baroque Period(from the 1600s - 1700s), the classical period(The 1700s - early 1800s), the Nineteenth-Century Music(from the late 1700s - early 1900s), and the Twentieth-Century Music(from the late 1800s - early 2000s). We in the 21st century are privileged to have varieties of music, many of which have cut through the look and crownings of ages past.

Movies however started in the late 1800s, when the first visual act came into play through the invention of a Kinetoscope (a forerunner of our modern projector) in the year 1894. It was invented by Thomas Edison and has been totally modified over the years as new inventions keep coming in. I think the idea of Movies was to create a more professional entertainment different from normal physical theater acting. I might be wrong. I don't know what Thomas Edison had in mind when he was building it lol. However, I think the purpose has been modified and perfected in the long run.

BUT IF FOR ANY REASON, THERE'S A NEED FOR THE WORLD TO LET GO OF EITHER MUSIC OR MOVIES, A VOTE IS CAST, THERE'S A TIE, AND MY VOTE IS NEEDED TO DETERMINE THE ONE THAT STAYS. THE FOLLOWING FACTOR WILL INFLUENCE MY VOTE.

HISTORY: From the little research I have done, I will first consider how the world has survived over the millennia. Oh yes, our world has greatly evolved, but then again, every new invention has been an improvement of what had already existed. So I will consider keeping what has existed most.

INFLUENCE: Then again, I would consider which of the two has had the most influence on humanity. I would consider the common people, and how much both music and movies have affected them. I would like to consider the level of influence both music and movies have had on humanity in a negative and positive light and I will consider the one that has more positive influence, the one that the common people relate with, and also the one that humanity can easily fall back to.

SAVING HUMANITY: Even though both music and movies have told the story of humanity in one way or another, I believe one on more occasions has saved humanity more by affecting and appealing to human emotions in ways that have caused tangible change in both humanity and our history. I believe that will be the one worth saving.

AFTER GOING THROUGH ALL THE CRITERIA LISTED ABOVE, I CAN CONCLUDE THAT MUSIC IS WORTH SAVING, AND DEFINITELY WORTH MY VOTE.

THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO THE HIVE NAIJA WEEKLY PROMPT
