Hello, my very dear Hive Open Mic community. I find myself a bit "paltry" (as carmenrivas@carmenrivas would say) because my accordion was damaged. It has “stuck” two notes. When I open the bellows a DO sounds and when I close it it sounds an MI. Of course, the notes that I play also sound. There are times when it harmonizes, logically if I play a MI, a LA, a SOL and it sounds together with the DO it sounds fine, but if I play a SI or a D, when it sounds with the DO it sounds horrible.

Around here there are people dedicated to arranging string instruments, there are those who tune pianos... but there is no one who arranges accordions. In addition, there are different kinds of accordions... Anyway, if any of you can help me... or advise me on a tutorial, send me a link or something like that, that is reliable, I would appreciate it. It makes me want to open it and try to figure out what it is, but I'm afraid to make it worse. Well, I'm going to participate playing the Venezuelan Cuatro, and my mother will support me with her singing. The song is “Venezuela Habla Cantando” (Venezuela Talks Singing) composed by ConnyMendez and I will share with you a beautiful version made of it by the unforgettable Simón Diaz (Our beloved “Tío Simón” (Uncle Simon) ). I chose this song to be in tune with the proposal of lasembradora@lasembradora, our recent Spotlight Artist, who suggested the theme "Homeland Pride"

LETRA

LYRICS

This is the quirpa, Venezuelan joropo, third national anthem
oh national where he who knows how to sing is inspired by singing
with melody and good lyrics and a sentimental voice
to show his land, his professional value.

I sing to Venezuela, I sing to Venezuela for being my homeland.
Guárico cute and dear, in you I learned to walk,
Rush with its plains, Barinas and its palm grove,
Cojedes and Portuguesa I can never forget.

Beautiful Valleys of Aragua, with its beautiful capital,
Carabobo, the one in history, the one in history, a thriving industrial zone,
Maria Lionza in Yaracuy, Falcón and his medanal,
Lara with Barquisimeto the twilight city.

The Andes with their mountains, beautiful western charm,
Zulia and its beautiful lake, its beautiful lake, the land of friendship,
Miranda daydream and romance and the Federal District,
birthplace of Simón Bolívar, the god of freedom.
In this quirpa, I want everyone to pay a little attention,
yes of attention, so that they hear and appreciate a plainsman in his expression,
proud of his music, restless and great defender
of the purest values that exist in our nation.

Let's not forget that saying: "there is no strength without union",
and let us remember that we are, beloved people, embers from the same stove,
bongueros of the same course, Creoles of heart,
and capable of fighting against any oppression.

And with this I say goodbye, my song ends here,
do not forget the commitment, dear people, that you have with folklore,
the music of this land must sound like a million,
so that they see that Venezuela has representation

It was she who introduced Metaphysics to Venezuela and dedicated herself more to it than to music, however, there are three songs by her that I really like, one is “Venezuela speaks singing” and I leave you the links of the other two so you can learn a little more about the creative talent of Conny Mendez:

carmenrivas@carmenrivas

carmenrivas@carmenrivas Great music lover. You have seen her sing and accompany herself with the guitar and the Venezuelan cuatro, in some typical songs "playing" a cheese grater, but she also plays furruco, tambora, maracas and an instrument similar to a vertical tambourine that she herself made and plays in Christmas bonus masses.

In the Shalom choir of the Nuestra Señora de Las Mercedes church in Villa de Cura, Aragua state, Venezuela, in addition to singing and interpreting the aforementioned instruments, she serves as deputy director, being the right hand of sayury@sayury.

When they request her assistance to pray novenas, she goes with the cuatro or the guitar accompanied by hermaryrc@hermaryrc and they do very good teamwork. And on birthdays... well, that's ballads, rancheras (mexican songs), folk music, merengues, salsa, guaguancó... what is enjoyed by this pair of ladies.

carmenrivas@carmenrivas also specializes in Creole confectionery, bakes delicious breads and prepares, bakes and decorates spectacular cakes. You see her tall and stocky, but she has her weakness, her "Achilles' heel": Her granddaughter Kamila (Yes, its name is spelled with a "K"),
