The Venari Knifer at first sight feels like one of those situational cards that can be quite powerful under specific game rules. One requirement is that Melee Monsters can attack from any position and the game needs to have a way to limit Magic Damage as it's quite vulnerable to that since speed isn't really helping. Having 5 Speed while doing damage to monsters when they miss combined with the Torns Ability for sure is nice. Overall though, the stats and situations where the card can optimally be used just fall short for regular use. The 7.26$ price tag for a level 6 however still makes it tempting to get it as part of my collection. I do own it on my alt account which focuses on Gold cards. Earth right now doesn't favor Melee attack and has other better options so I'm leaving this card for what it is right now.
I did play this card on my alt account on one of the battles as Earth was my daily Focus. The rather low amount of health combined with the fact that my opponent had some really powerful legendaries also at higher levels using double strike and slow highly reduced the effectiveness of the Verari Knifer. I played the Mycelic Morpheuus in first position and so did my opponent. I opted for mainly on cards that have quite some health with the Flesh Golem in 2nd place followed by the Hill Giant and the Venari Knifer. The War Chaang tends to be a good choice in these matches as it has both ranged and melee attack and the Earth Elemental tends to be useful in nearly all matches.
Maybe if I would have played the more optimal Dragon Daria Dragonscale Summoner I might have had more chance but overall I don't think my collection had the cards to beat my opponent. Things certainly have become a lot more fun playing the game with the new reward system as every match really counts.
