Morning on my side of the world and that means green smoothie time. Though this one might sound a bit strange to you with the broccolini and celery. It actually tastes super delicious.
Broccolini is a natural hybrid of broccoli. It has smaller florets and longer, thin stalks. It is a cross between broccoli and Chinese broccoli (aka Chinese kale). Broccolini has a milder, sweeter taste than broccoli but has similar nutritional benefits.
Just as broccoli, broccolini contains sulforaphane, indoles, and isothiocyanates which are powerful antioxidants that exhibit anticancer, anti-diabetic and anti-microbial properties. Furthermore, both broccoli and broccolini are a great source of vitamin A, C, and K.

Ingredients
1 cup broccolini (or broccoli), stems, leaves and florets
1 cup celery, roughly peeled and chopped
1/2-1 cup spinach
2 passion fruit
1 banana (or 2-3 small tropical bananas)
1 cup pineapple chunks
1 cup papaya chunks
2 tbsp hemp seeds
2-3 cup water
Directions
- Blend water and spinach until smooth. Add other ingredients and blend again. If the smoothie is too thick at more water. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw everything in at once.
- Top with superfoods/topping if you like.
