In Finland, the Sunday before Shrove Tuesday ("Laskiaistiistai") is called "Laskiaissunnuntai".

While both of them are called "Laskiainen", we do enjoy and celebrate them both with "Laskiaispulla".

(It's a normal bun with almonds on top, and almond paste ^{(or marzipan)}, or raspberry jam and whipped cream in between the cap and the rest of the bun.)

Other traditional Shrove dishes include Shrove Tuesday's pea soup punched up with the left-over ham that's been in the freezer since the previous Christmas.

On "Laskiainen", people would normally go outside, and enjoy winter activities like tobogganing and downhill skiing among other things.

We would, however need some snow.

It was good though... the bun I mean.
