I have a little bit of a format change in Zeke Thoughts this week as prompted #ThoughtfulDailyPost and the new prompt @thoughtfulposts/thoughtful-daily-post-monthly-prompt-1 @Wesphilbin waves the flag for us and runs @thoughtfulposts as the curation account that rewards thoughtful posts. Please share your positive vibes on the blockchain and consider delegating.
My algorithm mercifully feeds me positive vibes and I choose the best to share every week.
Last week, I broke away and went camping with the family a few days in the wilderness. We do this quite regularly, maybe an average of 2-3 times a year. I definitely enjoy it and look forward to the trips but never really considered them centering 'til this year. Night settled upon the lake and this view turned to clear starry skies. Nobody around, just me and the lake each drinking in the clean air.
Yah I guess camping centers me!
Listening to Tool today and couldn't think of anything but "I will find the center in you." Instant classic that turned into a classic.
We have spoken about being honest with yourself and how difficult it is to stop lying to ourselves. Right when you get to the point when you are proud of yourself for cutting the bullshit of convenient lies to save face or effort, you find another set you are telling yourself. Seems like such a juvenile defence mechanism but we all do it.
No matter who you are looking at, they are still getting their shit together just like us. If we ever truly get our shit together, it really would take an unimaginable amount of honesty. But why? Wisdom can be a superpower when capturing the lessons from a lifetime of mistakes and becoming honest with ourselves. What happens when we get there? The stark realization that nobody was to blame for holding us back but ourselves.
Will that be depressing or exhilarating? Whoever gets there first, make sure to come back and let the rest of us know on #thoughtfuldailypost alright?
Drink in the soaring vocals, take a look at yourself and think of what you have left behind with Skid Row.
