Whether it be procrastination, legitimate business, or pause for dramatic effect, I have been sneaking up on getting back to posting daily. What better triumphant return than a post on our Pimp Platform for #SublimeSunday inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday initiated by @ace108. This Sunday, I am riding the wave of a week I will tell you about, but capping it off with some outdoor autumn exploration and some ice!
Fire
I really should be getting out more to take shots of all the flaming maple trees and changing leaf colours as a delayed autumn has made for some vibrant colours. This tree lights up so much every year, that my front room glows red every year at this time even though it is 4 houses away.
Less than a month ago, here is what the same tree looked like. Just a splash of red on the lower south side and still bravely green despite the late September date.
A few busy days means I haven't been able to take my fuzzy buddy for a run in the woods for a few days. Sunday, I have a few small things to do and have to make a trip to Dogwars as the priority.
I am not the only one with this bright idea as there are 10 cars in the parking lot and at least as many dogs in the park enjoying the end of the weekend.
I have been snapping pictures of Birdhouse Tree all year long watching the leaves grow and now finally start to change colours with the season. Once we get back into winter, I will have dozens of pictures from this angle I can combine into an animated gif that shows all seasons.
It is the biggest tree in the back trail area and you can see the sun is starting to set a little earlier already.
Some nice colours on the path littered with leaves already shed by trees about to be exposed to some real frosty nights.
The trails in the back of the dog park are something special. Groomed enough to be easily walkable but still rustic and wild enough to feel like you are walking in the bush. Even more fun to race a long of you are a dog.
Plenty of colour in the trees and the autumn as the clouds catch the light of the setting sun.
The taste of the seasonal transition is pretty sweet this Sunday. The air is just a little fresher and the mosquitos have mercifully disappeared for the next few months.
The Canadian Geese are circling, honking, gathering numbers and about to head to Florida to shit all over there for a season.
Ice!
With so many autumn images of firey leaves, you may have forgotten about the ice. This is more of a teaser for tomorrow's story but there was indeed ice this weekend as well. I had the chance to MC the grand finale of a contest held at the arena for the local hockey team's home opener.
I will not try to spoil it but we had huge stakes on the line, plenty of fun, a bit of stinkiness, and some time with the mayor for some community fun.
What a Sunday it was and now you have a reason to follow and check out the next part of this cliff-hanger tomorrow!
The sun may have set on another awesome weekend but we are just getting started with what I have been up to this last busy month.
