A half hour passed as I stared blankly out the window. The guild’s artisans were coming and going, with 2x4s and a number of wheelbarrows filled with metal bolts. They’d been working on their offices for the past two weeks, and it was already coming together. What was originally a wasteland has transformed into the bones of a building, its shape slowly crystallising to the architect’s design.
“I wonder how long it’s going to be until they’ve finished. Dwarves work damn fast,” I muttered to myself.
A short pudgy fellow dropped his wheelbarrow and waved earnestly at me through my window. Taken aback, I shuddered, before realising I’d met them down the local last night – Kaelax. Kaelax Whetmar. I smiled back and gave my own wave to him, before cracking out into a light chuckle. Kaelax had disrupted the orderly flow of materials and was being chastised by the group’s foreman. Red-faced, I could see him hurriedly picking up his wheelbarrow, joining the queue once more.
