Hey Bees!
Here is what I found. A running contest by @zord189.
He said he loves food and loves reading all the food entries so he came up with a contest for all of us to join and share our different food recipes with him.
I thought about this for a while before deciding to participate.
So here, I will share my cooking recipes with you guys.
So what are we preparing today?
We will be making porridge plantain.
Here in Nigeria, many of us consume this dish. This food is rich in iron and vitamins.
LEt's begin with our cooking for today.
Recipes
- Unripe plantain
- Vegetable leaf
- Salt
- Pepper
- Onion
- Maggi
- Oil
- Crayfish or fish
- And of course H20
Cooking Process
First of all, I harvested my plantain from the farm. We have a plantain plantation so we have a lot of this farm produce. I got it from the farm
Then I peeled off the waste or its peels.
I scrubbed out the sticky and rough surface to make it smooth and slippery.
After which I cut the plantain into pieces (very small sizes)
I pound or grind my pepper and crayfish.
Then I sliced the vegetable leaf that I will use with the plantain.
I did everything and set it aside.
After which I put out my gas cooker, lighted it up, and then scoop a measurable amount of water into the pot and left it for some minutes to boil.
When the water was very hot and bubbling, I poured in the pieced plantain, I added the ingredients; salt, maggi, pepper, and onions.
Then I added the crayfish and left it for some time to boil and mix the ingredients well.
In some minutes later, I checked my cooking, and then I poured in the sliced vegetable leaf and waited for some more minutes before adding the palm kernel oil or you call it red oil
This is all I needed to do with my porridge plantain. Everything was added in the right and equal proportions.
I then waited finally for the food to be ready. After a while, I put the pot off the gas cooker and scooped it to serve.
Trust me the taste is as great as they look lol.
Oh, yes! Grab your spoon and dig in hahaha.
This is all for my porridge plantain recipes. And it's my entry for the contest. I hope to share more recipes and looking forward to more contests. Thank you!
