A cheeky boy whose arrogance rivals that of Emperor's Children.
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post! I have recently needed to take a new direction. All the details about that is found Here - The Great 40k Review Plan
This is not to just regurgitate the stats and skills. I give my own estimation about what I think of the unit and its abilities. Often... about how to use them best... or how to kill them best!
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
I will do a new estimation of what I owe soon!
The Archon is the Drukhari "moderate combat" commander that specializes in leadership skills that increase the effectiveness of army abilities.
He costs 85pts to field.
Let's check its stats!
Movement 8"
Toughness 3
Save 4+/2++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain) ** This Invul cannot be re-rolled and after the first time it fails this save, it loses its invul for the rest of the game.
Wounds 4
Ld 6+
OC 1
Weapon Loadout: Huskblade and either Splinter Pistol or Blast Pistol
12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S2, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Assault (This weapon can be fired after this model Advances)
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in Engagement Range)
Anti-Infantry 3+ (This weapon wounds Infantry models on a 3+ regardless of the target's toughness)
6" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S8, AP-3 and D3 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in Engagement Range)
5 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S3, AP-2 and 2 Damage each.
Anti-Infantry 3+ (This weapon wounds Infantry models on a 3+ regardless of the target's toughness)
While leading a unit, models in this unit re-roll Wound rolls of 1. When the unit is Empowered, they re-roll the Wound roll instead.
If this model is your Warlord, when your opponent uses a Stratagem on a unit within 12" of this model, increase the cost of that Stratagem by 1CP.
** This replaces Lord of Deceit
The 2+ Invul has been around for ages. I handle it in one of two ways: Either attack him with a flurry of attacks a force him to break it or punch him really hard and make the guy sweat... I do not know why it works but so many times it becomes instant death once tht hit lands. lol
The Blast pistol will be most people's choice and the Huskblade is good.
The re-roll wounds ability is good. An Archon can lead Kabalite Warriors, Court of the Archon and Incubi. The latter two are better.
The Devious Mastermind ability is good but you lose it if you have another character as your Warlord.
Thank you for reading!
