Traveling along Troncal 1 Highway / Recorriendo la Carretera Troncal 1

Venezuela is a country characterized by having one of the most complex and complete road networks in the world, which cross from north to south and from east to west a territory whose geographical reality is quite complicated, this because we can find different geographical features throughout a layout that must conform to the characteristics of the terrain, but at the same time must interfere as little as possible with the environment, which is usually a very expensive combination and at the same time has loaded with enormous architectural challenges that complicate the execution of the road sections.

Venezuela es un país caracterizado por contar con una de las redes carreteras más complejas y completas del mundo, las cuales cruzan de norte a sur y de este a oeste un territorio cuya realidad geográfica es bastante complicada, esto debido a que podremos encontrar diferentes accidentes geográficos a lo largo y ancho de un trazado que debe ajustarse a las características del terreno, pero al mismo tiempo debe interferir lo menos posible con el medio ambiente, lo cual suele ser una combinación bastante costosa y al mismo tiempo tiene cargada de enormes retos arquitectónicos que complican ejecución de los tramos carreteros.

Today I made a tour of one of the most used roads by the people who live in this city, it is the San Cristobal - La Fria highway, a section belonging to the trunk road 1, which starts from the capital of the country in Caracas and ends in the border town of San Antonio, a few kilometers from the regional capital that would be the beautiful San Cristobal.

El día de hoy hice un recorrido por una de las carreteras más usadas por las personas que vivimos en esta ciudad, se trata de la autopista San Cristóbal - La Fría, un tramo perteneciente a la carretera troncal 1, la cual parte desde la capital del país en Caracas y culmina en la fronteriza ciudad de San Antonio, a unos pocos kilómetros de la capital regional que vendría siendo la Bella San Cristóbal.

I must point out that it is a route that is still under construction, which is why we will find stretches where the width of the roadway is not equal and the number of lanes varies from 1 to 2 in each direction. Unlike its big sister, the Trans-Andean highway, this one does not have a widely spread scenic route, but this does not mean that it is a laconic and sad, monotonous or boring road, on the contrary, it is a route where we find interesting and beautiful landscapes, where large mountains, blue skies and large cliffs stand out.

Debo indicarles que está en una ruta que aún se mantiene en construcción, es por esto que encontraremos tramos en donde el ancho de la calzada no es igual y la cantidad de carriles varían de 1 a 2 por cada sentido. A diferencia de su hermana mayor la carretera transandina esta no cuenta con un recorrido paisajístico ampliamente difundido, pero esto no significa que se trate de una vía lacónica y triste, monótona o aburrida, por el contrario, es una ruta en donde encontramos interesantes y lindos paisajes, en donde resaltan las grandes montañas, los cielos azules y grandes precipicios.

This is a route that is characterized by having wide stretches where the temperature is very friendly, the breeze is cold and two ancient places dress their best clothes to receive all visitors, along the way we could see impressive green hills, intricate mountains and numerous coal mines, which are exploited intensively, as this is an area that is characterized as one of the main national reservoirs of this important mineral.

Este es un recorrido que se caracteriza por contar con amplios tramos en donde la temperatura es muy amiga, la brisa es fría y dos parajes antiguos visten sus mejores galas para recibir a todos los visitantes, a lo largo del camino pudimos observar impresionantes colinas de color verde, intrincadas montañas y numerosas minas de carbón, las cuales son explotadas de manera intensa, ya que esta es una zona que se caracteriza por ser uno de los principales reservorios nacionales de este importante mineral.

As a curious fact, this is a road that starts from the regional capital, the city of San Cristobal and ends in the second most important city of the state which is the city of La Fria, the first is a totally Andean city, while the second is in the foothills, the first is cold and the second is hot, are two urban spaces that seem to have many differences between them, but really keep inside many common spaces and most importantly, they share the leadership of one of the most beautiful and impressive states of the nation.

Como dato curioso esta es una vía que parte desde la capital regional la ciudad de San Cristóbal y termina en la segunda ciudad más importante de todo el estado que es la ciudad de La Fría, la primera es una urbe totalmente andina, mientras que la segunda se encuentra en el pie de monte, la primera es fría y la segunda es caliente, son dos espacios urbanos que parecieran tener muchas diferencias entre sí, pero que realmente guardan en su interior muchos espacios comunes y lo más importante es que comparten el liderazgo de uno de los estados más bellos e impresionantes de toda la nación.

Traveling through the Venezuelan highways is always a transcendental experience, since they are characterized by beautiful natural scenery and give us incredible moments, which is why every time I have the opportunity to enjoy a trip by land I do not hesitate for a second to choose a place next to the window, as this guarantees me a more pleasant journey, half photographs and unforgettable memories.

Recorrer las carreteras venezolanas siempre resulta ser una experiencia trascendental, ya que estas se caracterizan por atravesar bellos escenarios naturales y regalarnos momentos increíbles, es por ello que cada vez que tengo la oportunidad de disfrutar de un viaje por tierra no dudo ni un segundo en escoger un lugar al lado de la ventanilla, ya que esto me garantiza un recorrido más placentero, medias fotografías y recuerdos inolvidables.
