The City Sky

Sometimes, to reconnect with oneself, one must look up at the sky to discover, in the immensity of the universe, the answers the heart so longs for. Our ancestors looked up at the heavens and found answers. In times past, the nights were bright, mystical, and enigmatic, but now, in the world’s major cities, the sky seems lifeless—there are no stars, no comets streaking across the sky, and no shining planets; often, there is only smoke, pollution, and the constant clamor of cities that never stop moving.

That is why, when the sky speaks, I listen; and as I interpret its message, I take out my camera, always searching for that little gap between the buildings to capture the beauty of the firmament, which—when it chooses to—still offers us that touch of uniqueness that has captivated humanity for years.

That’s how I observed and captured many clouds—with curious shapes, indecipherable patterns, and soft textures—which were highlighted by the glow of the sunset. We also saw bright light to the west and the twilight of night approaching from the east: a striking combination, a natural dance that repeats itself every day, but which, in moments like this, makes the occasion feel very special. I really enjoy the world, the universe, and all its wonders; I wish I had a camera with much greater capabilities, but until I get one, I make do with what I have.
