The National Art Gallery / La galería de Arte Nacional

In Caracas as in any other big city we can find several areas that stand out for agglomerating common interests, this is how we arrive at the so-called cultural circuit of the city, a space that begins in the vicinity of the Teresa Carreño Theater, crosses the Central Park complex, crosses the Caobos Park and ends in an imposing building that today stands proudly as the headquarters of the National Art Gallery.

En Caracas como en cualquier otra ciudad grande podemos encontrar diversas zonas que se destacan por aglomerar intereses comunes, es de esta forma como llegamos al denominado circuito cultural de la ciudad, un espacio que comienzan las inmediaciones del Teatro Teresa Carreño, atraviesa el complejo de Parque Central, cruza el parque los caobos y finaliza en un imponente edificio que hoy en día se eleva de forma orgullosa como la sede de la Galería de Arte Nacional.

This large museum complex is located on a plot of land running north-south between Bolivar and Mexico Avenues, at a midpoint between the Bellas Artes and Parque Carabobo stations. It is one of the artistic areas par excellence where the various creative currents combine to shape an environment where color, freedom of thought and pride are the predominant factors.

Este gran complejo museístico se encuentra ubicado en una parcela que discurre en sentido norte sur entre las avenidas Bolívar y México, en un punto medio entre las estaciones de Bellas Artes y Parque Carabobo. Se trata de una de las zonas artísticas por excelencia en dónde las diversas corrientes creativas se conjugan para moldear un ambiente en donde el color, la libertad de pensamiento y el orgullo son los factores predominantes.

Undoubtedly, the National Art Gallery is one of the largest museum complexes in the entire region, with more than 30,000 square meters it houses one of the most envied artistic and cultural collections of invaluable character in this part of the world. Since in its rectangular rooms and with more than 2000 square meters we can find pieces of colonial art, excellent samples of Venezuelan historical art, many sculptures, audiovisual works and interesting samples of modern art.

Sin duda alguna la Galería de Arte Nacional es uno de los complejos museísticos más grandes de toda la región, con sus más de 30, 000 metros cuadrados alberga una de las colecciones artísticas y culturales de carácter invaluables más envidiadas de toda esta zona del mundo. Ya que en sus salas de aspecto rectangular y con más de 2000 metros cuadrados podemos encontrar piezas de arte colonial, excelentes muestras de arte histórico venezolano, muchas esculturas, trabajos audiovisuales e interesantes muestras de arte moderno.

In this opportunity I decided to show you those rooms where a very varied sample of photography, lithographs and artistic expressions of current times stand out, that is to say, here we find a great variety of very representative pieces of contemporary art, which each one seeks to send its own message, to tell us its particular story and at the same time to turn us into that creative world that sometimes seems to have no sense, but that in reality hides multiple feelings and emotions.

En esta oportunidad justamente decidí mostrarles aquellas salas en donde se destaca una muy variada muestra de fotografía, litografías y expresiones artísticas de tiempos actuales, es decir acá encontramos una gran variedad de piezas muy representativas del arte contemporáneo, las cuales cada una Busca enviar su propio mensaje, contarnos su historia particular y al mismo tiempo en volvernos en aquel mundo creativo que a veces parece no tener sentido, Pero que en realidad esconde múltiples sentimientos y emociones.

The architectural design of this artistic venue is adapted to the needs of modern times, as it presents huge rooms, benches very well distributed along the different rooms and walls that just by looking at them we realize that they are adapted to artistic pieces of different dimensions, you can also appreciate the neat character of the facilities and at the same time we can enjoy a perfect lighting, which allows us to admire every detail of those pieces that attract the most attention.

El diseño de arquitectónico de esta sede artística se encuentra adaptado a las necesidades de los tiempos modernos, ya que nos presenta enormes estancias, bancas muy bien distribuidas a lo largo de las diferentes salas y paredes que con solo verlas nos damos cuenta de que se adaptan a piezas artísticas de diferentes dimensiones, además se puede apreciar el carácter pulcro de las instalaciones y al mismo tiempo podemos disfrutar de una iluminación perfecta, la cual nos permite admirar cada detalle de esas piezas que más llaman la atención.

There are more than 9000 pieces that make up the collection of the National Art Gallery and in them we can find samples of nationally and internationally recognized artists, but the most incredible of all is that there is also space for lesser known, which thanks to the inclusive model in art policies have been able to find a wall where to show the world their work, works and creations, which in their own way and within their context are really interesting.

Son más de 9000 piezas las que conforman la colección de la Galería de Arte Nacional y en ellas podemos encontrar muestras de artistas reconocidos a nivel nacional e internacional, pero lo más increíble de todo es que también existe espacio para menos conocidos, los cuales gracias al modelo inclusivo en políticas artísticas han podido encontrar una pared en dónde mostrarle al mundo sus trabajos, obras y creaciones, las cuales a su forma y dentro de su contexto son realmente interesantes.

This trip to Caracas has really been a very fruitful experience, where I have been able to know many places that for me were totally null, but that are the true essence of the Venezuelan capital, I feel very happy and proud to enjoy the most of this museum, because in it I could take a trip through history, I could discover many stories and at the same time I could find the necessary inspiration to continue moving forward steadily in the tortuous but interesting path of life.

Este viaje a Caracas ha sido realmente una experiencia muy fructífera, en donde he podido conocer muchos lugares que para mí eran totalmente nulos, pero que son la verdadera esencia de la capital venezolana, me siento muy contento y orgulloso de poder disfrutar al máximo de este museo, ya que en él he podido dar un viaje a través de la historia, he podido descubrir múltiples historias y al mismo tiempo he podido encontrar la inspiración necesaria para seguir avanzando con paso firme en el tortuoso pero interesante sendero de la vida.
