Entry to the Round 445 Shadow Hunters Contest - A Tree by the Road / Un Árbol Sobre La Carretera

La Fría is a city that, perhaps due to urban growth, had somewhat neglected its trees, but over time its residents realized just how essential they were. It turns out that when the sun is at its highest around 1 or 2 p.m., the temperature can easily reach 39 degrees, and the heat index can go as high as 44, creating truly harsh environmental conditions that put the body to the test and affect people’s health.

La Fría es una ciudad que, quizás con el crecimiento urbano, se olvidó un poco de los árboles, pero con el pasar del tiempo sus ciudadanos se dieron cuenta de que estos eran supernecesarios. Resulta que cuando el sol se alza sobre la 1 o 2 de la tarde, la temperatura puede llegar con facilidad a los 39 grados y la sensación térmica hasta los 44, lo cual constituye condiciones ambientales realmente adversas, en donde el cuerpo se pone a prueba y la salud se ve afectada.

That’s why having a tree in front of your house has become a real necessity, since trees not only purify our air but, as they grow, provide incredible shade—which isn’t just a natural refuge from the sun’s rays but also helps regulate the ambient temperature and makes our surroundings cooler places where we feel like sitting down or stopping to catch our breath while taking a long walk. In this case, I’ve managed to capture some incredible details.

Es por ello que tener un árbol frente a tu casa se ha convertido en una verdadera necesidad, ya que estos no solamente purifican nuestro aire, sino que al crecer generan sombras increíbles, las cuales no solo son un refugio natural para la incidencia solar, sino que estas ayudan a regular la temperatura ambiental y hacen de nuestros entornos lugares más frescos, en donde provoca sentarse, en donde nos paramos para tomar un respiro mientras estamos dando una larga caminata. En este caso he logrado capturar detalles increíbles.

What’s more, I’ve always been fascinated by those shadows cast on the pavement, since they’re constantly shifting—and sometimes even shield us from the rain—allowing us to enjoy a natural contrast that’s truly sublime. Shadows are indispensable, enigmatic, and truly beautiful; that’s why capturing them has become one of my favorite activities—it fills me with peace and makes me feel good.

Además, siempre me ha fascinado esa proyección sobre el pavimento, ya que se trata de sombras que se mueven de forma constante, las cuales también en ocasiones nos protegen de la lluvia y en donde podemos disfrutar de un contraste natural que es realmente sublime. Las sombras son indispensables, enigmáticas y realmente bellas; es por ello que capturarlas se ha convertido en una de mis actividades favoritas, la cual me llena de paz y me hace sentir bien.
