Getting to know Calvario / Conociendo el Calvario

Caracas is a city that has seen me come and go constantly, but during the years that I have traveled its spaces in very few occasions I have put on the shoes of a tourist, for this reason and although it seems incredible, this capital is still unknown to me. But this situation is beginning to change, I have decided to embark on a crusade whose purpose is to enjoy every moment of life and know to the fullest those spaces that surround me, because I do not know when will be the last day of my time on earth and I think it is necessary that every moment is lived as if it were the last.

Caracas es una ciudad que me ha visto ir y venir constantemente, pero durante los años que he recorrido sus espacios en muy pocas ocasiones me he puesto los zapatos de turista, por esta razón y aunque parezca increíble, esta capital sigue siendo desconocida para mí. Pero esta situación está comenzando a cambiar he decidido embarcarme en una cruzada cuyo propósito es disfrutar cada momento de la vida y conocer a plenitud aquellos espacios que me rodean, ya que no se sabe cuándo será el último día de mi paso por la tierra y creo que es necesario que cada momento se viva como que si fuera el último.

For this reason last weekend I decided to go to the center of the city, specifically to the facilities of the Ezequiel Zamora Park, better known as El Calvario, since according to many people this is a hidden space that denotes great beauty, since it is covered with gardens, many trees and great panoramic views that show us a large, modern and full of life Caracas.

Por esta razón el fin de semana pasado decidí direccionarme hacia el centro de la ciudad, específicamente hacia las instalaciones del parque Ezequiel Zamora, más conocido como El Calvario, ya que según muchas personas Este es un espacio escondido que denota gran belleza, puesto que está cubierto de jardines, muchos árboles y grandes vistas panorámicas que nos muestran una Caracas grande, moderna y llena de vida.

The comments were true, it is a small mountain whose greenery is incredible and which is discussed in paths, stairs and roads that seem to take us on a journey through time, as all the architecture of the park is French style, but the same environment takes us to a republican Caracas divided by social classes and sought to take steps towards a modernization having as a focal point the European trends.

Los comentarios eran ciertos se trata de una pequeña montaña cuyo verdor es increíble y por la cual se discute en senderos, escaleras y caminos que parecieran trasladarnos por un viaje a través del tiempo, ya que toda la arquitectura del parque es de estilo francés, pero del mismo el entorno nos traslada hacia una Caracas republicana dividida por clases sociales y que buscaba dar pasos hacia una modernización teniendo como punto focal las tendencias europeas.

The park is a space full of calm, where we can enjoy various monuments, a triumphal arch dedicated to the liberal victory in the Federal War, many statues and beautiful landscapes, no doubt this is a small corner where we can enjoy in the company of family or friends, but this time I had to walk it alone, a situation that does not bother me, on the contrary, I feel very satisfied to have changed the course of my life and start enjoying every minute of it.

El parque es un espacio lleno de calma, en donde podemos disfrutar de diversos monumentos, un arco del triunfo dedicado a la victoria liberal en la Guerra Federal, muchas estatuas y lindos paisajes, sin duda alguna se trata de un pequeño Rincón en donde podemos disfrutar en compañía de familiares o amigos, pero en esta oportunidad me tocó recorrerlo solo, situación en que no me molesta, al contrario, me siento muy satisfecho de haber cambiado el rumbo de mi vida y de empezar a disfrutar de cada minuto de ella.

I must admit that I am a bit afraid to face unknown places, but despite this I decided to get to know the whole place, at first it seemed a little lonely, but as I went inside the park I discovered that there were many people walking, jogging, walking pets and just enjoying a sunny day, but at the same time not very hot. The sound of the trees, the smell of the earth and the constant breeze generate an atmosphere full of tranquility, where nature is the protagonist, but best of all is that it is a space in the heart of the capital. Undoubtedly, this is a small oasis, full of peace and serenity, which is necessary to escape from the routine, the noise of traffic and the bustle of society.

Debo reconocer que soy un tanto temeroso para enfrentarme a sitios desconocidos, pero a pesar de ello decidí conocer todo el lugar, al principio me parecía un poco solo, pero a medida que me iba adentrando al interior del parque descubrí que había muchas personas caminando, trotando, paseando mascotas y simplemente disfrutando de un día soleado, pero al mismo tiempo poco caluroso. El sonido de los árboles, el olor a tierra y la brisa constante generan un ambiente lleno de tranquilidad, en donde la naturaleza es la protagonista, pero lo mejor de todo es que se trata de un espacio en pleno centro de la capital. Sin duda alguna, este es un pequeño oasis, lleno de paz y serenidad, el cual es necesario para escapar de la rutina, el ruido del tráfico y el bullicio de la sociedad.

I was very happy to have decided to leave home and discover that in Caracas there is a place as simple and wonderful as this one, where time stops to give us moments of full satisfaction, fresh air and tranquility. The landscapes of the city are incredible, from here you can see the center, north, south, east and part of the west, it is great that such a strategic point like this was kept intact for the enjoyment of citizens, as we all have the right to live in first person of beautiful views and beautiful park.

Me sentí muy feliz de haber decidido salir de casa y descubrir que en Caracas existe un lugar tan sencillo y maravilloso, como este, en donde el tiempo se detiene para regalarnos momentos de plena satisfacción, aire puro y mucha tranquilidad. Los paisajes de la ciudad son increíbles, desde acá se puede observar el centro, norte, sur, este y parte del oeste, es genial que un punto tan estratégico como este se mantuviera intacto para el disfrute de la ciudadanía, ya que todos tenemos derecho a vivir en primera persona de vistas hermosas y parque bonitos.

This trip through Caracas has extended a little longer than expected, so I want to take advantage of every moment to know new places and things, so that when I return to my land at the foot of the Andes I can have new experiences to tell, beautiful images to show, and beautiful moments to remember.

Este viaje por Caracas se ha extendido un poco más del tiempo previsto, así que quiero aprovechar cada instante para conocer lugares y cosas nuevas, para que cuando regrese a mi tierra al pie de los Andes poder tener nuevas experiencias que contar, imágenes lindas que mostrar, y bellos momentos que recordar.
